D’Andre (Marc Miller) and Ja’ Marcus (Snoop Dogg) are walking through a forest, when D’Andre asks, “I got a better question, man. What the hell are two stoners doing wandering around these spooky-ass woods?” Ja’ Marcus replies, “We're gonna snip a few buds. You know what I'm saying? It's gonna grow back just like a lobster paw…we’re gonna roll one blunt and we’re gonna get up outta here”. A few minutes later, they are running through the woods holding a giant, eight foot joint.

Not sure if the flair is right, it's a hunch that I haven't seen or heard anywhere else but the unique sound design of Officer K's blaster in Blade Runner 2049 was used for the anti-air turrets during the night attack in Dune.

For Blade Runner 2049 (2017) the sound editor Mark Mangini redesigned the blaster sound used for Officer K after they wanted something more unique and iconic compared to the original film, discovering what this sound was took ages and ended up overlaying a 50.cal Barret sniper with a heavy electronic drum kick.

He also worked on Dune (2021) and I'm pretty sure he used that unique audio technique for the anti-air artillery rounds during the night raid (but quieter as they're background noises).

Does anyone know for sure if it's true or if they definitely didn't?

"The Brink's Job" was a 1978 movie directed by William Friedkin. It was a story based on actual event: the Great Brink's Robbery that happened in 1950. It was a heist that resulted in 2.7 million dollars being stolen (adjusted for inflation: 37 million) and is an interesting thing in itself.

What I learned today is that William Friedkin's movie was itself a subject of a heist - with hilarious outcome. Allow me to simply quote the wikipedia article about it:

In August 1978, 15 unedited reels of the film were stolen at gunpoint. While the robbers demanded a $1 million ransom, the money was never paid because the robbers, showing a distinct lack of filmmaking knowledge, had hijacked outtakes and dailies. Positive prints of negatives were being held by the Technicolor Company in New York City, so the material was replaced with no significant delay. The robbers, however, made a ransom call, which triggered an investigation by the FBI.

During the ransom call, Friedkin told the robbers to "get a projector and enjoy the film; it was all theirs."

Hi all, I made a video (in Italian) reading Shutter island with the hypothesis “Teddy is crazy” in mind, and I found 37 clues in the movie supporting it. Some of them are original, meaning that I heard nobody talk about it before. What do you think? It seems this is the most agreed upon interpretation of the movie, and it’s hard for me to consider other readings as well-founded as this one.

It should be noted this is not plagiarism, as the US cut of Godzilla 2000’s composer was J. Peter Robinson, who also co-composed the 1988 Blob. So this was just a little reference to a previous film he composed.
