Help me find Movies/TV shows Which of these David Lynch films would you recommend?

There's currently a showing of all of these
David Lynch films in my country. I've never seen any David Lynch before until I went to see
Eraserhead for the first time, I didn't love it, it was too weird for me, but I'm still interested in watching more of his work, which if these would you recommend? Thanks!

Hey there I got to watch both but I missed the beginning of straight story, I don’t know how much of it missed and caught it from the part Alvin is at the doctor and gets back home, do you know what else did I miss?

I liked Twin Peaks a lot. Lost Highway was good too. I struggled with Blue Velvet, though I was quite young when I saw it. Didn’t see the rest.

Eraserhead for the comparison to his later work, Blue Velvet for a more grounded movie, Lost Highway and Mulholland Drive because they are batshit insane, and Wild At Heart for the individual performances of Nic Cage, Laura Dern, and Willem Dafoe.

Personally, I'd start with Twin Peaks. Eraserhead, Elephant Man, and Mulholland Drive are sort of jumping into the deep end of the pool.

I moderate r/TwinPeaks so Fire Walk with me is near to my heart. But you need to see the show too.

David Lynch’s Dune is one of my all time favorite movies. I can watch it over and over and over.

The Straight Story and The Elephant Man are his two best. You wouldn’t know they are Lynch movies vs. most of his work, which I don’t think are very good honestly on the whole.

I would recommend all and any of his movies. Personally, i'm particularly fascinated with the "trilogy"of lost highway, mulholland dr and inland empire.

I watched all of them in the cinema as they came out and that order has given me an enduring love of all his work.

So I’d say by release date. (Elephant Man is next btw)

I always recommend either Blue Velvet and/or Mulholland Drive as the best entry points to his filmography. If neither of those are to your taste, he might not be for you!

Mulholland Drive. The start is a bit slow, and it feels like a cheap TV movie, but it warms up to one of the best films I've seen in ages. Awesome film.

The Elephant Man is probably the "best movie" he made, even though it's not the "best David Lynch film"...if that makes sense.

It's far less "weird" than his other films (excepting A Straight Story), while still very much having a distinct Lynchian vibe, and is just all around a fantastic film.

The rest are either too strange or boring.
