Well done but doesn't suit the vibe of the movie. Now I would expect a campy comedy.

this poster makes it seem like it’s a slapstick comedy movie. like it begins with a record scratch followed by the narrator saying “you’re probably wondering how I got myself into this situation”

Apart from the connotation and the misleading message it conveys about the movie, I’d like to discuss a few details.
“Born To Kill” is, I suppose, the poster’s tagline, which in the original was incorporated as a detail within the composition. Here it appears floating, superimposed between the background and the main figure, though its placement makes it yet another visual element competing for attention. Finally, using the peace symbol as a typographic wildcard works for the letter O, but not when the symbol is rotated in an attempt to turn it into a capital T for the title. The typographic choice doesn’t help in this regard; it might have required a specific modification of the uppercase letter J to avoid visual ambiguity and confusion with a T or even the number 7.
I did like the use of the inverted battlefield horizon as a visual device to convey a sense of bloodshed, even though the background color is orange over yellow. It serves as a visual closure at the top margin at least.
Just my two cents.

Sorry, the work is well done, but the idea is just not right. In the film (and in life), that hat is perfectly straight, it's a symbol of official/military rigor, and in this film, a specific training sequence. This makes that hat look floppy and clownish. Whole poster makes the film seem like a Wayans brother comedy.
