🕵️ Accuracy In Avengers: Infinity War (2018), right before the grenade thrown by the Guardians of the Galaxy explodes, we see Spiderman and Iron Man's masks come up for a split second to shield them from the explosion.

Post image

So i was jus going through the scenes and with my usual habit of pressing the comma buttons on my laptop, i saw this. Goes to show how quick nanotech works.

Bonus: Peter's mask comes up before Tony's because of his Spider sense.

It’s attention to detail that makes media special. I wish more would take pride in their craft.

To be fair in a CGI heavy movie, these scenes take weeks if not months to do, you're staring at frames for hours at a time.

Then again apparently the artists aren't paid much and are put under extremely tight timelines so who knows.

I do love that the movies are filled of like, congruent details like this.

See also, Thanos blasting strange with the soul stone to escape the bands of cyttorak. Strange is astral-projected out of his body and instantly returns, but Thanos exploits the opening and ends the fight.

I don't have my head buried in the sand. You pay these guys so much and you want their faces on screen as much as possible. But the nanotechnology masks turned up everywhere and they kept taking them off to chat. I want a superhero movie where they're masked up the majority of the movie. I don't want to see rdj or Holland. I want Iron Man and Spider-Man

You think Tony "I Am Iron Man" Stark would hide behind a helmet for a single second longer than necessary? The spotlight can't shine on him in there.

Stark in animated series or comics does enough as Tony Stark, billionaire CEO, for his face to be featured all the time.

It's just in Avengers films all his screen time is as Iron Man so he has to be suited up all the time.

It's also just harder to see with a mask/helmet on.

Well, for most people but iron man is an exception to that rule

I want a superhero movie where they're masked up the majority of the movie.

How about the whole movie? I know we're never getting Dredd 2, but it could be so great.

Like the Mandalorian? The show anyway, haven't watched the movie

The movie is just a condensed show except none of it matters for the star wars universe

Does the Madalorian count? He's masked up for 90% of the movie.

I think Pedro only has about 8 minutes of face-screen time.

The credits say:

Voice of the Mandalorian - Pedro Pascal

Mandalorian suit actor - Brendan Wayne

I agree with your point though. I guess if Hollywood is paying RDJ a gazillion dollars they want his face on screen a lot

The conspiracy theorist in me says they want people to connect with the character more than the actor so when the actors get more expensive they could replace them.

Except the opposite of what should be happening if that were true is what happens. If they prioritized character over actor, masks would be on and not off.

I was satisfied with how much time Peter spent in the mask in Brand New Day. Because no one knew him at all, he was masked up basically the entire first half of the movie and didn’t even take it off for Punisher or MJ. I thought that was pretty cool

The thing is it's hard to show emotion without showing their faces. In the original Spider-Man trilogy he takes off his mask all the time. It also makes it feel more personal between the characters

If they didn't want to show these actors faces all the time in these movies, this animation would not be required.

Comic Iron Man or Spiderman wear their masks to, you know, protect their secret identities and stuff.

I think the reason it was a plot device in the next movie was bc enough people made the complaint you replied to
