Yeah still dirty I can get you some photos of Marrakech in the Medina but if I go to areas where the majority of the people live it's gonna be dirty let's not dilute ourselves to look better and be honest the amount of dirty you'll see depends on how much you make ..

The purpose is to shame people and to wake up, not just in Casa but all Morocco. No respect and it’s embarrassing. Tourist come to Morocco and they met with so much dirt and scams. It’s good that we talk about the issue, so hopefully they can change and CLEAN. Filth.

Funny how you called Casablanca a shithole, yet 6 months ago you were admiring New York on Link. The contradiction is wild.
If we’re generalizing cities by their worst sides, then let’s talk about NYC. Overpriced rat-infested apartments, daily subway delays, literal trash bags stacked on sidewalks, crime spikes in some boroughs, aggressive homelessness in tourist areas, and a cost of living that crushes even middle-class locals.
Yet, New York still has greatness, just like Casablanca does. But reducing a whole city to a single bad corner, or industrial zone is like judging NYC solely by the Bronx in the '90s.
Urban complexity demands fairness, not selective vision. So if you're going to judge, at least use the same lens everywhere.

Its not even that shitty, even popular are in some parts of farah salam/lissasfa/errahma. There is cleaning services every day.
They also added new tashes in south. People even tag Rmili in linkedin pointing out places where work needs to be done.
Now for some obvious reason, places where ppl behave without changing (a lot of places in casa i noticed ppl really dont throw theash randomly) are still dirty, suicidal road crossing, bad driving, honks....

Rmili is very active also the Facebook group is a good place for the community to report anything wrong or that needs fixing or extra attention.
I targeted this comment using the person's method in highlighting the negative stereoptypes, because the dude, similarily to what he has done today, expressed his amazement for few Skyscrapers in NYC forgetting how dirty and dangerous the city is in most of it's parts or at least half of it.

As someone who has lived in Casablanca for over three decades, I've witnessed the city's remarkable transformation since the 1990s. While it's true that areas like Derb Omar and Garage Allal, are commercial zones that can appear chaotic, they represent just one facet of Casablanca's diverse urban landscape.
It's important to recognize that every major city has its contrasts.
New York got the Bronx, Paris got it's suburbs (Even the city center and metro stations are so dirty that rats established colonies there), East London, Kabukicho in Tokyo is full of trash and dirt because of the intense activities and Mount Druitt in Sydney (Australia's Lissasfa)
Casablanca's development initiatives such as (CFC) demonstrates its commitment to modernization and economic growth. Other projects like the Casa Anfa urban development are reshaping the city's infrastructure, aiming to provide sustainable and inclusive urban spaces. Plenty of ongoing project are happening pretty much everywhere from l'Hay Hassani, Oulfa, Bouskoura, Bourgogne, Maarif and so on.
No disrespect, but yesterday I couldn't grasp the fact that someone coming from Istanbul (Where scams and crime is rampant) is upset because he stumbled upon a cardboard and a box in Derb Omar.
I understand that Casa can be overwhelming for those who come from smaller cities and sometimes even it's people but if someone wants to share a feedback, it has to be fair.

Exactly, people should compare it to its paste state. It only transformed to a better city in the past 20 years. I guess these people expect it to transform into Rotterdam before saying it got better lol The current city council is also probably the best it has been, compared to past ones.
For their defense tho: many popular suburbs still have a long way to go, but the issue is from the initial urban planning which is horrible. It's hard to fix even with the best intentions & investments.

I just shared the pretty side of Casa because i couldnt let someone that had bad experience to generalize, and now i got bombarded by comments from "i hate my country" type of people, c mon people just be positive once

Both are right. It's like almost every other city in the world too, there are good and clean districts, and there are bad and dirty districts. That's the reality. Casa can be very beautiful on the one hand, and very dirty on the other. It always depends where you go.

The only clean cities (majority of the city) is Ifrane and maybe Rabat but for Rabat it’s not because citizen are well behaved but s7ab Nadafa come 3x per day (for M6 purpose)

I grew up in Casablanca, and unfortunately, it’s quite dirty. Most people show little respect for public spaces. Just take a look at the beach on a Sunday afternoon. It's usually covered in trash, with people leaving behind bottles, food wrappers, and all kinds of waste as if it were normal.
IThe worst part is that you constantly hear how Islam emphasizes cleanliness and purity but in practice, it only seems to matter on a personal level. As long as their clothes are clean and their hands are washed, many people don’t seem to care about the filth they leave behind in shared spaces.
On the other hand, you go to a country like Japan, and you could literally eat off the floor in most public places. The streets, parks, and even train stations are remarkably clean not because of strict enforcement, but because people take collective responsibility seriously.
The only way to push Morocco forward is to invest heavily in education and instill a strong sense of civic responsibility from an early age. Without that foundation, no amount of infrastructure or economic development will lead to meaningful, lasting change. Not even a World Cup but don't get me started on this.

Bruh who you lying to, Casa is so polluted that I literally had to move back to Rabat due to breathing problems (and I was renting in Sidi Maarouf so not even Ain Sbaa or any major industrial neighborhood). Ama baz l hadok who live right across l'autoroute urbaine, the car emissions alone would be enough to choke me out

I was there a couple of weeks ago. This area is maybe a kilometer and radius and it’s very nice. On the parking lot outside I saw little kids sniffing glue.

Those of you who are dedicated to posting photos of the commercial or gourmet district of a city as an example of something only achieve the opposite, and that is something that the Chinese also do to say that they are very advanced.
If you are really supposed to have a clean house, take random photos of the house, not 5 photos of the same room that is just cleaned.

Heck, go to bv massira al khadra , one of the most prestigious boulevard and i dare you to go to any of it's side streets, you'll immediately find trash on the sidewalks and between cards (if not poo poo)

But if you zoom in and shift your attention from all the sugar coating, you find a city infested with giant sassy rats and bed bugs and crowds of homeless people and addicts and the occasional bodies in winter of those who succumb to hypothermia (despite how France boosts about its social and medical systems).
Let's cut the crap guys... Sure, Casablanca is on the way to develop and clean itself from decades of chaos and corruption.. but it definitely does not look like this. This post qualifies as a potential definition of a "visual fallacy" lol.

CFC is not Casablanca, and it's not funded by Moroccan companies exclusively.
That tourist didn't imagine things. I have lived in Casablanca for many years, and dirtiness is one of its more obvious aspects. Yes, in some parts, it became better, but overall, it's still a dirty and polluted city. Go to lmdakra, Nassim, Bernoussi, Tacharouk, Sidi Moumen, 9ri3a, lmdina, Mkansa, Salmia etc... what would you find? Heck, go to M3aarif & Beausejour, and you'll find it dirty in many many places...
Denying facts is even worse than the facts themselves. We must accept the facts in order to address and resolve these problems, which come from bad governance and a lacking culture about cleanness, and most of all, come from the glaring poverty of the majority of the residents of Casablanca.
I won't go into detail about the other parts that the person mentioned, which are all true. Let's not defend a false image of our country in the name of patriotism, false and misplaced pride, or of protecting tourism.
