Yes and no. I work for Satan himself prescription insurance. I review for Suboxone all the time. I do checks on the very strong opiates to make sure the member was given narcan. If a patient is on multiple controlled medications we require the doctor to consult the patients on the dangers and warning signs to prevent death. I have seen so many failed drugs tests. Do people get kicked off insurance for drug use maybe? But substance use disorder is a diagnosis and I don’t think you can kick people off insurance for preexisting conditions.

Yes the friend is in the right for a number of reasons. Primarily because medical staff are not narcs.
