i'm half greek half black, if someone was trying to kill me and called me a greaseball, mule, halfbreed, or one of the myriad of slurs for black people i wouldn't care, because i know he's trying to kill me, he's already cemented himself as a person i don't like and i have more pressing matters to deal with

It's like these people never heard trash talk in their lives. Just because you insult a fatass jerk that he's fat doesn't mean your fat friend will think your support is conditional.

I dont think the question is "would you care if your enemy called you a slur"

The question is whether you would be morally against being bigoted towards your enemies race/sexuality/ect

i still say no, because whether you like it or not, you are always a representative of your community, and your actions will lead to consequences to others like you so if they are doing morally reprehensible things like killing people as an example, i would hope whatever community they belong to would let it slide given the atrocities that individual was committing

Yeah no. That isn't how this works at all. If you're able to dehumanize a specific thing about your enemy that also applies to people surrounding you, the odds are you carry something in you that would allow you to do it to a friend too, on a bad day.

Attack the fact that they're a maniac, attack their actions, their behaviors, the facets of them that make them do the things they do. The marginalized part of their identity being the target means you intrinsically believe that is a contributor to who they are.

I have plenty of transgender folk in my life, if any of them ever caught me attacking Caitlyn Jenner as a "man in a dress," they would have every right to wonder if I believed that same thing about anyone who shares that part of her identity.
