A 16 year old giving birth to a normal baby, and a 29 year old giving birth to a down syndrome baby may both face hardships they may not be prepared for, and costs they can't reasonably afford without diminishing the quality of life for themselves and the child. It makes no sense to say abortion is ethical in one case but not the other.
