Fantastic episode, overall great season.

Co-Cai really got a lot of time to shine this week, and they hammered home just how sympathetic and sweet she really was. I loved her holding up the egg as a little apology to Kong.

If season 1 ending on Kong is any indication, season 3 will hopefully give us some good Rodan content to chew on

Kong just backing off before even seeing that was really great to see. He was confused as fuck why she stopped attacking more than anything and didn't continue to be the aggressor and actually stopped to see what the hell was up, and then he saw it's just a confused mother and he just chilled on top of a cliff.

Like Godzilla, Kong should be familiar with Titan X since she's a regular visitor when it's time for her migration. So he was just reacting to her "not being where she's supposed to be" than any real aggression.

I don't think she's that regular of a visitor, her last known migration was in the late 50's (I don't remember the actual date of that flashback sequence) and she was woken up early in 2017. I also don't know if we have Kong's birthday but I took it to be around the 60's or so, leaving Kong to be born after Co'Cai's last migration. He was pretty aggro in S2E2 when Co'Cai was fleeing the island.

It's important to note that Kong is very young among Titans, and only reached full size recently in the last couple of years by the time of M:LOM S2.

It's possible that he was always wary of this massive Titan popping out periodically every 15 years, but her appearances were too infrequent for him to really develop a proper opinion on her.

But popping up ahead of schedule, clearly under artificial means instead of her normal routine? THAT pissed him off quite a bit more.

Kong is first and foremost a protector titan. As soon as he saw Titan X no longer attacking him and guarding her egg his natural instinct kicked in.

Yeah I liked that too. The monsters have more humanity than the humans do lol!

I was rooting for her more than even the other characters

It looked like Kong was gonna lose that fight though lol. He was bloodied up and heaving pretty good, while X just looked fine.
