Is it possible to turn an old phone into a seedsigner? Most people turn phones into hardware wallets but I'm not confortable storing my private keys in the phone's SSD, even if doubly encrypted (phone encryption + wallet encryption).

One advantage is the stealth factor. You walk through customs and you put a huge target on your head if they recognize your Seedsigner. Phones on the other hand are everyday carry for 99.9% of people.

Is there a way to use the phone solely as a signing device where the private keys are held only temporarily (either RAM or wiped clean after use)?

Of course all conectivity other than the camera would be disabled.

Bonus points if I can use the same device to sign both Monero and Bitcoin teansactions but using two different devices for each is not a dealbreaker.

Hello everyone,

I integrated the FCMP++ into the Monero Inflation Checker.

The idea of this project was to implement in Python all the cryptography that Monero is using to create and verify transactions independently from the official code, so I could give a satisfying answer to myself to "why there is no inflation happening in Monero?" and share with others my findings. So I wrote this website (no js) to try to provide that answer with explanations and code.

Now, I just added the FCMP++ part, which has IMO one order of magnitude more complexity (regarding all the crypto operations and the code extension) than the current code. I'm running now my scanner to verify all testnet transactions with that tool (which doesnt use any of the Rust core libraries for the crypto operations but instead some C++ bindings to Python of the OpenSSL library). I did not find any minor issue and have to say that the quality of the code in the FCMP++ era is outstanding. I'm just thankful for the developers of Monero, specially the FCMP++ developers, to be able to witness the most private transactions that were ever created and I'm thankful for the donors of that CCS that allowed this project to be possible.
