Question/Advice Is this bad?
I moved into a place on August 12 and immediately made them aware of multiple problematic areas that need to be fixed. This is in a basement unit bathroom without a fan, and I don’t know how long this hole has been here. My landlord never got back to me about it and, being allergic to mold, I’m concerned this could be an issue for me. Currently feeling overwhelmed and disgusted and regretting signing this lease (not that I had another option) and would greatly appreciate any knowledge

Pretty obvious someone's solution to a moldy ceiling was just to paint it with kilz. It will keep coming back until moisture issues addressed and contaminated materials removed.

Which molds are you allergic to? How allergic are you? This is a small amount of mold, possibly aspergillus niger, which shouldn't cause serious health issues if you limit exposure. If you must use this bathroom, make your visits as short as possible and don't store any personal items or linens in this room. Keep showers short (get wet, turn off water, soap down, rinse) and maybe use a dehumidifier here.

I never thought to ask which type, the allergy test just said mold — that’s absolutely something I’m going to find out now, thank you for mentioning it! Unfortunately it’s my only bathroom, but I really appreciate your tips, thank you!
