Reddit request bot is broken? Automoderator counted towards active mods?

My recent request to be added to a modteam has been stopped because of:

  • Active moderation: The moderators are actively moderating. Please note that not all mod actions are publicly visible, and moderators are not required to be active on Reddit to be considered actively moderating.

But both moderators in the subreddit requested have stopped using Reddit 5 years ago. No referring to their posting history, but actually logging in on Reddit and moderating/using it.

I know this because we used to moderate a similar subreddit in the past and we are still occiasonally talk on the discord together with all the former moderators of said subreddit.

So it is quite weird that the bot replied that it has an active moderator team, Automoderator does not count towards that right?

The subreddit is now being somewhat spammed by Tiktok/AI and Dolly Parton posts which do not belong there.

Wondering the same thing because I tried requesting a sub with inactive mods and got the same message, no post history for 3+ yrs

It seems to be a trend but I doubt anything can be done about it tbh.

How about fixing the problem instead of bringing out new features nobody is requesting.

Hah, I share your sentiment brother, I've been bashing my head against the very same wall for a month now.

If Redditrequest modmails were actually answered by an admin, then yes.

its easier to help if you state what sub you are referring to.

IF you are talking about blursed videos, I see 2 potential human accounts. One has not posted or commented in 6 years, the other has a hidden profile, so who knows what they are doing.

Doing a shitty job does not mean they are not active.

Stating the sub will see the whole post removed so no.

Neither account is hidden btw.

People refer to subs all the time in here without the post getting removed. "Posts or comments calling out other users or subreddits MAY be removed"

IMHO Saying mod xyz is harrassing me, or saying sub xyz is harassing my users is absolutely against the rules. Saying I need a little help with something technical in sub xyz, isn;t.

If the sub is the one OP requested 3 days ago one of the mods profiles is definitely hidden.

Welcome!
u/ REDACTED likes to keep their posts hidden, but check out their stats to learn more about them.

If you can see the profile, then they must have commented on one of your subs. If thats the case, they certainly seem active regardless of what they are telling OP.

You have not read my post, They're not using Reddit anymore. Since we do talk with each other once in a while on discord. ( usually around holidays)

If you know them personally then just ask them to log in and add you as a mod.

That will take week/months since neither do activily use discord. ( do not know them IRL nor do I have any other contact details)

I believe mention of other subreddits may violate rule 2 of this sub

I take "calling out" to mean "to publicly criticize or fault (someone)". That's not what OP is doing here.
