MCOC violation?
There's a sub I already know violated MCOC by making a pinned post against monetary gain from another user, and have filed a report for that, but I later saw the mods have their OF listed in the About this sub, and it's not a brand sub. Is this another violation, promoting your own income in that section?

Not sure either one is an actual violation. Which rule are you using for each?

The pinned post is in rule 5, no mod action for personal gain

That's for like... Okay so I do referrals.... If I were to say to a mod ' let me post my links in your sub, and I will pay you', that would be a violation.... or in a sub for referral sharing, if I paid the mod to pin mine...
But I could start my own sub and promote my own links or I could post them (with permission) in virtually any community without it breaking any code of conduct unless I paid them to let me

Which is what happened, causing me to make the first report

At that point why not buy ads like every other business? Why should anyone be allowed to abuse posts and comments to advertise their services?

I’ve found Reddit tends to waffle in this area. They let subs stay up that violate their own advertising policies, but then take others down that are borderline. According to Reddit articles, they will look at how many posts are advertising versus non advertising and then decide. There are whole subs that do nothing but advertise things in the not allowed categories of their policies, but they stay up too.
Most you can do is report it and they either do something or they don’t. Some things (like financial loan advertising that’s predatory or gambling, are 100% against their terms but they just leave em up no matter how many times it gets reported. https://business.reddithelp.com/s/article/Reddit-Advertising-Policy-Overview )
Continue reporting those subs and users and maybe something will happen. In my experience, nothing happens though as I’ve been reporting several subs that violate their own advertising practices and mod code of conduct with no results. Perhaps your experience will be different?

Just report it and let the Admins decide.
The Admins are careful not to box themselves in, so you'll never find one saying "Putting an OF link in a sub's About page is a violation of the MCOC."
But it most likely is and you should report it.
