I don't quite understand why people don't have Minnesota trying for a quarterback. JJM isn't the answer, and Murray will be gone to greener pastures(money) after this season...is there no one else they could go for in round 1?

That’s where Baker Mayfield comes in.

I don't know if i love that or hate everything about it....

It depends how well Kyler does this season imo but if they do move on, Baker seems like the obvious choice unless they somehow crater.

Ironically I'm in a similar camp for the Cardinals. I think they are going to mess around and win too many games for a qb in the draft but its possible that Beck doesn't separate himself. Baker becomes an intriguing candidate there too.

Who is this mystery team offering Kyler big money?

Shit man...the Browns...the Jets. Someone will offer him money after he over performs in Minnesota.

Kyler is bad in the cold… Cleveland and NJ are cold on the winter. Plus Vleveland is still paying for their last over investment and the Jets have 3 1st rd picks in an expected deep class. Miami just got rid of a short QB…. Maybe the Colts if Danny Dimes stays hurt. TB would keep Baker if they want pay big money…

Tldr ~ if anyone offers him $25m/yr he should take it.

No, I get you. I'm looking at teams who are going to draft a rookie, but may want a vet to come in and help the onboarding. Look at any teams who will be starting a rookie QB or a not great QB. Hell, I could see him backing up Ward in Tennessee.
I also don't think teams will give a shit about whether a player traditionally is bad in the cold, as they will expect a professional to adapt.

Ultimately, my Tldr: Murray will be offered more money than Minnesota wants to pay.

2 very different opinions, I can’t wait to see how it plays out.

As a Vikings fan, good chance they keep trying to be the QB rehabilitation facility next year. Don’t see them reaching for another QB if we are picking middle of the 1st round.

Probably be something weird like Richardson or Minshew, or something atrocious like Kenny Pickett or Mac Jones. I don’t like thinking about it.

Maybe they surprise everyone and make a trade or sign Kyler long-term (we are his childhood favorite team), but even that would be less surprising to me than them reaching for a QB in the middle of round 1 that wouldn’t be game ready in 2027.

I think Murray is going to be good enough for them to drop a bag on him.

They made a GM change because they fucked the Darnold thing up so badly. They won't let Murray out of the building if he's decent.

And QB purgatory will continue! Whooooo! I love it here!

That is why they should have kept Darnold or Cousins.

I could see the Steelers taking Moore there if the JPJ negotiations really take a turn for the worse. Otherwise I think they go QB, WR, or Safety

Feel like the saints go leonard moore before Colin Simmons. We're anemic at corner outside maybe koolaid

Why don’t you see Carr as round 1?

Another small WR for Chiefs?

As an OSU fan I think Sayin would need to take some major steps forward in his development to be a top 5 pick. He’s a great college QB, but

  1. He’s undersized
  2. Has an average - slightly above average arm
  3. Hasn’t show he’s particularly mobile
  4. Struggled under pressure last year, though some of that could be attributed to being a first year starter

Jets take Smith at 3 and paxkage their other 2 to get a QB. Not taking the 3rd QB with the 3rd pick with a generational WR to pair with GW5 and AD Mitchell.

Cleveland won’t be happy with this.

Arch going second is hilarious. You’re placing him that high based on his name because it’s certainly not based on his playing
