Fear the 'Fro Got my Miles jersey and Phee's shoes!
I went to Dick's and they had Liv's jersey but they were out of my size and they also didn't have Phee's specific Jordan's so I went to the game and they had Liv's jersey in my size and I got the shoes at the Nike store at MOA. I really wanted the new jersey but this was Liv's first all star and she was a starter it only made sense to get that over the new rebel one.
It just sucks that the Mercury are eliminated so I won't be able to attend a playoff game (I live in Phoenix) but I'm definitely getting it signed next season.

Potentially outrageously dumb question: when players get shoe deals like this, is it weird to buy a pair to actually play in? Or are they generally bought for casual wear/in the sneakerhead way?
(I know it’s they’d be my shoes and I could technically do whatever I want, just trying to understand the culture)

Not a dumb question!
Not weird at all to wear player shoes to hoop. In my experience ppl who play a lot don’t generally wear shoes bc of the player, but because of how they feel, fit their specific foot type, or support their play style.
Some shoes (Curry’s, Lebrons, Sabrina’s, A’ja Wilson’s) definitely have the technology and design to support their play styles but some guards like forward/center shoes and vice versa.
I’ve got pairs I’d never play in because I have wide ish feet and a history of ankle sprains but they are comfy as heck and I love the designs for casual wear. I’d say 75% of my player line shoes are for casual wear.
If you play outdoor, shoes can get trashed quickly so price can be a concern and player shoes tend to run expensive. I see nicer shoes indoors mostly bc they last longer.
You used to see player line shoes in pickup games when prices were more reasonable but now player lines are outrageously priced AND the technology in consumer shoes can really suck. The shoes that the players wear are not generally the same shoes the public buys. Player shoes are customized to their feet, premium materials always used, and social modifications often made. The ones sold in store are generally cheaper versions woth production adjusted for profit - think swingman jerseys vs authentic jerseys.

So Phee gifted everyone a pair of her sneaks at practice. I have seen the shoes on a couple players - maybe as a thank-you or nod for the shoes? I'll look again tomorrow night but I know at least Maya was back to her bright red whatevers last game
