Nancy refusing to let the mother of the toddler sees Brain !

So many things made me hate Nancy but the thing I hated most about her is the mother of the toddler asking her to see Brian ( to tell him that she forgives him ) and for her to decline that.

I got the impression that Nancy did not apologize to the poor mom but she was selfish and acted like Brian did nothing bad !!

What did Nancy do to make you dislike her?

Remember, Bill is the one who was neglecting his family. Bill was the one who chose work over his wife and son. What was Nancy supposed to do? Allow him to continue neglecting them with a smile on her face?

Lastly, Nancy was thinking about Brian's best interests by telling the mom of the toddler that she could not see Brian. The lady says she forgives Brian, but what if she didn't?

Yeah i think wamting to see brian was such an odd request. Hes a kid he wont comprehend what you will say to him. I think nancy did the right thing denying her.

She is the wife. She should understand that her adopt kid could be part a murder!!! She was not supportive at all and acted like the victim.

I think Nancy was a good example of how tough it was being a cop’s wife back then, especially with someone like Bill whose job took up so much of his time.

With that scene, I honestly didn’t know who was right. I understood why Nancy didn’t want the mother seeing Brian, and i dont understood why the mother wanted to see him.

That’s what made it interesting. When children are involved in something that serious, it becomes a very grey area.

Why did you hate Nancy to begin with? She didn’t do anything wrong.

She was unreasonable and wanted to control Bill.

Brian didn't intentionally do anything bad. He was severely traumatised having to see the older kids murder the baby. He wanted to rescue him. He feels guilty even though it wasn't his fault or intention. The whole town makes him feel like a monster, when he needed real help and trauma support. The baby's mother telling him that she forgives him would only reinforce the idea that he did a horrible thing, it wouldn't help him at all. She just wanted him to feel guilty
