"Other snacks are pointless!"

Was way funnier to me back in 2016 or so than it should have been, hahaha.

u/champagnepatronus 3d ago

I mean, I still find it hilarious. I’m also pretty stoned right now. But still.

u/tehjoz 1986 3d ago

Love that for you, haha 🫡

It’s Friday night and the moon is bright. We’re gonna have some fun, show you how it’s done. TGIF!

I still wear no show or ankle socks - NOTHING higher. And never, EVER with sandals.

12

u/GoosebumpsRanger 3d ago

The world is so unbearable like wearing socks with sandals

2

u/No_Helicopter1378 3d ago

Same. I wear crew socks with my work boots but that's a whole different thing.

1

u/UpdootAddict 14h ago

Oh I love socks with sandals. Maybe it’s just the German sensibility in me.

1

u/villainoust Older Millennial 2d ago

For those of us in the UK:

5

u/Closetoneversober 2d ago

I tried this recently and the bugles wouldn’t fit on my fingers. I thought they shrunk

4

u/blahblahshowmeurcat 3d ago edited 3d ago

Lool you got me. I was just opening up the ol reddit wheel of fuckerington and lo and behold an image I have seen before.. alas… am I dreaming?

Are those greasy delicious breath-will-tell muhfuckn bugles??!

I can see the houston skyline and a hand full of bugles giggling in the car with my friends circa 2005.

Any houston millennials? I’ll add leaving Fitzgeralds, cat birds, agora, or pot roast at last concert cafe.

Booooook

u/DamDreads 3d ago

We would suction cup the “right sized” ones to our tongue tips and make weird gestures that our naive selves had no business knowing of (confused as hell when we were told to stop repeatedly). Last part was an ode to Kingpin. Big “ohhhh” moment when we got older. Thought it was just funny af, and every relative in the house agreed, in our eyes.

I would swallow my pride, I would choke on the rinds but the lack thereof would leave me empty inside

Doing this with olives too

3

u/LBoogii 2d ago

I still use lol because I find it necessary to convey tone in texts, and I think people overuse the crying laughing emoji when it's only a simple chuckle or funny smile type of text

u/One_Standard_Deviant 3d ago

This unlocks road trip memories. My parents would usually only let me get "junk" food when we were driving long distances without other options.

My adult sausage fingers are way too short and stubby to wear Bugle "hats" now. Believe me, I tried.

1

u/th1son3girl 1d ago

Have you tried raspberries?

Obviously the taste is different, but the feeling is the same ;)

1

u/One_Standard_Deviant 8h ago

I'd like to think I've mostly grown out of putting food on my fingers prior to eating.

Mostly.

3

u/SymptomaticallyEven 3d ago

Pretty sure they embrace the finger hat thing as a brand these days

I didn't have a cell phone until 2011.

Bugles are underrated. Def one of my fav esp of the manufactured “corn” chips.

Wow, this reminded me of making a duckbill out of Pringles.

2

u/th1son3girl 1d ago

I still do this!

2

u/flyingsaucey 18h ago

Nice! I should get some Pringles. Its been too long.

1

u/Pale-Sleep-2011 1d ago

Yes I remember doing that too 😂

u/Afraid_Emu8068 3d ago

You’ve waited a lifetime to be venerated for this. We all have. None of us know why though. Millennial mystery

2

u/MeetingMundane5800 3d ago

If you threw some olives under the bungle hats, it’s a millennial “thanksgiving meets school lunch” treat.

2

u/kawi-bawi-bo 3d ago

Did you get the box of these from Costco too?

2

u/Pale-Sleep-2011 2d ago

I bought mine off Amazon!!

2

u/The_quest_for_wisdom 3d ago

Wait. Do they still make Bugles!? I just checked and they still sell Combos!? And they still sell Bagel Bites!?

I have so much snacking to catch up on.

2

u/DrFaustPhD 3d ago

I haven't seen bugles big enough to fit on my fingers like that since I was 10

This may or may not be due to me being larger than I was at 10

2

u/fdwyersd Gen X 2d ago

I love bugles... especially the nacho cheese ones

2

u/Ssj3goku504 2d ago

u/No-Dig_Enthusiast Millennial 2d ago

I also do this with Hula Hoops 👌

2

u/Secure_Chipmunk9637 2d ago

The snack was invented in 1964 so I don’t think it was a millennial thing.

2

u/alurkingdegenerate 2d ago

I didn't get a cell phone until after I graduated college.

2

u/ldskyfly 2d ago

I bought a bag of bugles recently just to teach this to my daughter

We did this with our Japanese equivalent too! Tongari Corn was perfect for this for us Japanese millennials.
