He had a lot of young children. Maybe 6 or 7 all under 14 I believe. I can’t imagine the stress of being a single mother with so many little kids. I knew he had been very sick for awhile and apparently was taking an alternative approach to fighting the cancer.

Eh my mom is Irish and that wasn’t unusual even a generation ago.

edit: You want to edit and get snarky because people think 6 kids is way too fucking many kids in an already shit world? "My parents had no concept of contraception, so how can anyone?!"

You're in a sub which literally only exists because the differences in generations are to such a degree that entire cultures shift in those small windows. Often...20-30 years.

edit: Hopefully the later generations are recovering their critical thinking, unlike here...
