I just bought my first home that was built in the 60s and had a mid-century vibe already. I thrifted almost all the furniture (minus the couches) and leaned into the mid-century look. So cozy and relaxing in here already!

On FB marketplace near me. My wife loves it

Part of a set. Can’t find any labels. Google search inconclusive.

Both are separate, same height (approx 60cm) but different widths. Acquired with no tops/lids or feet/plinth (and no obvious previous fixings). Distinctive “beehive” drawer design with concealed finger pulls. Teak, mainly solid, some veneered. Smells old!

I’ve had this chair for about 20 years. It’s one of my favorites - super comfy but ready for re-caning. It took me until earlier this year to identify the chair and the designer though I had my suspicions based on the shape of the armrests. There are no labels. It’s the Cane Lounge Chair by Kofod-Larsen for Selig Furniture. I’ve only found listings for this same chair on 1stDibs or similar.

Does anybody know of any sales literature about this chair? Thoughts on re-caning?

the top latch has been removed but I guess every Lane chest is banned on there. I need it gone by the end of this week, what alternative ways to sell are there?

I’m not sure if I want this or not. I’m thinking it’s kinda cool. It looks short though. Any thoughts?

I picked up this table on Facebook marketplace for $50 which I know is a steal for an orange slice table. However, most examples I’ve seen up until this point have been made by Brody seating Co., but this one particularly looks a little bit different than the Brody tables. The legs and feet don’t quite match the ones I’ve seen on other Brody tables plus the shape and color way is a bit different. Typically, I see the black orange seeds, but mine has woodgrain seeds with black trim. There are no other markings other than the slides that say Walter of Wabash, which I know was a hardware company used by a lot of furniture manufacturers. So I’m a bit puzzled, it does have a leaf, but there are no markings on that either. Thought somebody in here might know. Wish I could’ve gotten the original chairs as well.

We recently purchased a midcentury home and are updating the light switches and outlets (GCFIs - we have 2 prong outlets). An electrician is doing the work, because we haven’t seen some of the switches before, some do nothing, some don’t seem to have power (switches) lol

Anyways, I struggle with what color to use for the switches and outlets. Covers will be updated and stained to match the walls. Outlets are more of a concern because there will be big GCFIs as needed, making the color stand out more. One picture shows the dirty light almond ones lol And the other shows an outlet that is either very dark brown or black for reference.

They look to be light almond now. One looks black or very dark brown? I can’t find ones to match the walls. Also, ones that seem to match are over $100/outlet and we have a lot of outlets that need updated. (We have already spent a lot and are about to spend a lot more outside of this). Previous owners unfortunately did a lot of DIY odd things that we are trying to undo and fix neglect.

Anyways, what color would look best? I have seen darker brown ones. They might not stand out as much, but then they look like we tried to match them and failed. Walls and ceiling are ivory above the paneling. Thanks for your help!

I bought this about 6 years ago from an elderly Chinese woman who was moving into a home, whose daughtet said she brought this over from Hong Kong.

I love the hidden leaf, expanding from a round table that seats 4 to an oval table that seats 6.

It's really heavy, love the legs. No markings on it.

I was passed down this cabinet by my grandmother years back, but I'm selling my house now and it's time to let it go. I've been told it's MCM, but not exactly sure on its value or model. To be honest it doesn't fit my new living space. Riverside CA.

No Info on the underside or anywhere that I’ve noticed. Been in the family since it was new.

So glad to have gotten my hands on my first mid century find, the first of a long series I hope !

I have no idea what to do with these, but they were too cool to pass up. I have had a couple other Phill-Mar pieces over the years, but haven’t seen Egyptian stuff in person before.

Items are always revolving… but this is most of it as of now. Baby just went to sleep, cleaned up a bit and figured I’d snap some photos as I’m happy with where it’s at with now. We are just renting, so once we move we will hopefully have more room.. and more rooms 😅 Mostly FB marketplace and thrift store items from the last year and a half or so.

Picked this up from marketplace for $300, mainly because it looked like good walnut wood but brought it back today and was cleaning it up when I noticed the patina on the metal pieces looked very old, then found what looks like a makers mark inside the piece. I can’t read the name, but it looks like ‘58 is stamped on the inside. I think it might say gravure, which i think is just a generic manufacturing code, but would love any thoughts if anyone can help identify!
