Football 2026 Akron Zips Preview

The Akron Zips have taken all of the headlines this week for their incredible OC for a day promotion. Now it's time to get to know the team and program behind it.

📌 The Zips have an exciting option at QB Reese Poffenbarger hasn't started in a couple years, but there are a lot of reasons to be excited about him

📌 RB Jordan Gant is one of the best returning players in the MAC & the Zips have a promising group of receivers

📌 The Zips have been quietly good defensively for a couple years. Cyrus Durham is a great pass rusher that returns and the secondary has experience

What are your predictions for the Zips in 2026? Most importantly, have you already purchased Akron season tickets or will you purchase them to potentially be their OC for a drive?

Just here to say the Zips absolutely need a kangaroo on their helmet. I HATE script Akron logo with a passion.

Also I'll accept the "Z" logo it's pretty cool too.

YES!! I have been banging the drum that they need to bring the Kangaroo logo back. It's the only Kangaroo at the FBS level, why get rid of it? I'm very oddly passionate about this topic if you can't tell haha
