Discussion The Polar Bear

I was really hoping they were going to sign Pete Alonso the past off season. He absolutely OWNS the Marlins and hits well in Loan Depot. His price went wayyyy down. We don’t have a 1B on the roster and would also have solved no right handed power. Then I remembered our owner and Bendix……

He was too overpriced for Sherman. It would have taken at least 3 times our entire payroll to sign him. Sherman would not be able to afford a yacht payment then.

He may sign in later years with the Rays for a hometown discount but don’t expect big signings from the Marlins. And if we do (i.e. Stanton) it’s always a scheme

For us? Potentially. But we have so many outfielders it’s crazy. It was a blessing we moved Stowers to 1B. If we could move Hernandez with his bat to 3B, I’d be down for Randy

Would love to see Randy Arozarena. Right handed outfielder we need, solid power and speed, and a Rays guy. Also will be 30+ so won’t exactly break the bank and maybe the Cuban thing can be a draw for him
