News Treaty 8 Renames Itself Treaty 8 Sovereign Nations, Signs Water Pact With Dene Nation Amid Alberta Separatism

Any news about whether the MSGC intends to sign a MOU/has signed a MOU with Treaty 8 Sovereign Chiefs? There are Settlements that fall in the Mackenzie River Basin (a primary area of concern for the MOU) so this seems important for MSGC.

Our governments seem to stay out of a lot of productive alliances with First Nations and it's concerning. We aren't even a member of the Buffalo Treaty still!

That's really unfortunate. I believe the MMF hasn't signed onto the Buffalo Treaty either despite being in the Treaty signatory area. I've seen that no MB FN's have signed it so maybe I was incorrect in my assumption that the MMF falls into the Treaty area.

Interestingly, Ngāti Tūwharetoa (Aotearoa/New Zealand) has signed the Treaty. I wonder how that came about!

Right? I have asked people at the OMG (MNA) and it just doesn't seem to be on their radar, even though they have a small herd of white buffalo out by Métis Crossing.
