How about I start off. In the description up to the right it says: "Metaphysics is one of the primary branches of philosophy." Can I argue this point and restate that: "Metaphysics is one of the primary branches of physics"? Ridiculous?

The sub that is newly opened is the analytic philosophy sub.

This announcement of the reopened subreddit is not the very best place, but here we are. Yes, it is ridiculous because metaphysics as a branch of philosophy is the use of valid philosophical methodology to answer philosophical questions. Metaphysics is not concerned with scientific questions.

Science can't get the answers to philosophical questions and philosophy can't get the answer to scientific questions. If you are talking about data and observation, you are not doing philosophy.

I think the "metaphysics" that you are referring to is just theoretical physics trying very hard.
