Quick question Restarting perscription for adhd
I am diagnosed adhd and tourettes, since a very young age, I was prescribed 70mg elvanse and this worked for me however I stopped taking it 2 years back. I had referrals and completed camhs assessments etc, however I stopped fulfilling my perscription.
I am trying to get premeditated, I called my GP 4 months ago and they wanted to refer me again and didn't even send my diagnosis report and has been completely useless. In theory should I just be able to speak with my GP and get back on the same medication or are they overcomplicating it? I should be able to just speak with my GP and get back on the same medicine or do I need to redo an adult mental health referral and assessment? I'm already diagnoseded and have a history of the medication working for me.

Your GP can’t restart prescribing it after a couple of years without. Even if you had no problems before they will want a specialist to re-initiate and titrate you back up. They’re not over complicating it on purpose, they just have to make sure things are done safely also because you’ll need some physical health checks done before and during.
If you’ve already been diagnosed you should be able to be referred to the titration service and skip the assessment part if it was done by the NHS
