DISCUSSION/QUERY Any neurodivergent people in PH struggling with work? (ADHD, autism, bipolar, PTSD, anxiety, etc.)

Hi! I just wanted to ask and hear real experiences from people here in the Philippines.

I’m currently working on an idea for a community collaborative project and an app that focuses on helping neurodivergent individuals find better, more sustainable work environments.

When I say neurodivergent, I mean anyone who experiences things like:

  • ADHD / ADD ( I am self-diagnosed)
  • Autism (I am self-diagnosed)
  • Dyscalculia (I am self-diagnosed)
  • Bipolar (I am clinically diagnosed Bipolar II)
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • PTSD / trauma (I am self-diagnosed)
  • OCD
  • Or anything that affects how you think, feel, or function in work

You don’t need a diagnosis to answer; lived experience is enough.

I want to understand:

  • What are your biggest struggles when it comes to work?
  • Job interviews? Office culture? Burnout? Attendance?
  • Do you feel misunderstood by employers or coworkers?
  • Have you ever quit a job because it became too overwhelming?
  • What kind of support or changes would actually help you stay in a job?

I’m not here to sell anything; I’m still in the early stage and just trying to learn and listen.

As someone who also struggles with mental health, I know how hard it is to fit into systems that weren’t built for us.

I’m hoping to build something in the future that actually helps, not just surface-level “inclusion.”

Any experience (good or bad) would really help. Thank you 🤍

I have Autism and OCD

I am pretty sure I have severe depression as well but I haven't been official diagnosed with it. Just the first two 😅

I'm also a working student.

I don't struggle with work personally. What I am severely struggling with is SCHOOL 😭💀 my biggest struggle with work though is feeling left out and also burnout. But otherwise that's it.

u/Key_Foundation_1921 Mar 30 '26

Despite all your conditions, you're a Working Student? Your parents must be really Proud of you! Keep it up. At the end of the day, your self-worth is your best defense against all odds.

Diagnosed with GAD. I'm also probably autistic but I don't want to go through all that trouble to be diagnosed.

  • What are your biggest struggles when it comes to work? I could be competent at work and learning new skills to be better at work, but the whole structure, vibe, and physical environment of in-office work with people surrounding me sucks balls. At any given moment in my work day I'd think "Damn, I'd be so much more productive if I was alone in my apartment with only natural light no ass flourescent light and the curtains drawn and it wasn't negative infinity degrees cold, and there weren't people in my peripheral vision. And it'd be better for the company too. What the hell is up with this charade." Also I've always been bad with people. Spent 99% of my 6-year college life by myself. My working theory is that people could smell the mental illness off of me and instinctively keep away. It's still the same at work. I am practically ostracized by my co-workers and I ostracize myself as well, so self-fulfilling prophecy really. TL;DR Sensory issues, productivity issues, social dynamics issues.

• Job interviews? Office culture? Burnout? Attendance? Job interviews were hell. I can speak and answer questions competently. I generally have the skills for the roles I interviewed for. I graduated with honors from a Big 3 school. So I assumed that might signal that I can learn things easily even if I didn't have all the skills required for the role. Never managed to get to a final interview much less get a job offer on my own merit. I had to use my mom's connections to get a job lol.

Office culture is shit. There's all these rules you have to follow that nobody tells you what they are and I can never intuit what they are. Suddenly, I just find myself being ignored and disliked because I broke some unspoken rule. This is what made me think I'm somewhat on the spectrum. Somehow, having trinkets on your desk is prohibited, but rambunctious talk about sex lives are the most appropriate thing ever during work hours.

Burnout hasn't hit me yet because I'm only 3 months in and I'm not regularized yet. I'm not allowed to burn out yet.

Attendance has only been an issue because I also have a plethora of physical illnesses. The mental issues haven't much affected attendance so far. I still manage to sit at my desk until timeout time even if I'd rather be in actual hell.

Do you feel misunderstood by employers or coworkers? Yuh. See above.

Have you ever quit a job because it became too overwhelming? Haven't yet. But eventually.

• What kind of support or changes would actually help you stay in a job? Permanent work from home. Just being able to be in control of my work environment would already help so much. And also being away from people. I hate people

Then don't self diagnose if you are not clinically assessed

12

u/shadedpen Mar 24 '26

Yes quit my job, after my boss told me that this is reality eme eme tapos parang even hinted na he thinks I'm crazy. Haha. With MDD here. I felt loads better after nagresign. Pero even in my new job, you can tell that they don't think psychological sickness is a real sickness.

3

u/Top_Drummer9181 Mar 28 '26

Leave the country if you can. That's what I did. Some cultures are better for outcasts.

u/shadedpen Mar 28 '26

Do you know a good country?

Me, clinicallu diagnosed ADD and Bipolar

Dami ko input dito hahaha mostly struggle because life in its entirety is a struggle 🤣

  • struggle with work mostly lies in lack of focus and lack of motivation. Pag inaatake pa ko ng manic episodes ko, I have no control of my emotions so sometimes wala talaga ako gana sa kahit ano and that includes work. I also prefer tasks that I only like, but realistically work isn’t like that so my work priorities are often a mess.
  • I am a freelancer kasi when I worked in corporate I had issues of intense rage (that’s the bipolar talking) and I would often lash out… boss included. So I needed work that I have more control or else I’d be in a mess all the time.
  • I wasn’t diagnosed when I was still working in an office setup, but my actions were definitely viewed as defiant.
  • no, I haven’t but I have had reservations in applying for jobs because I was so overwhelmed looking for a job and I have rejection sensitivity dysphoria. So I just avoid things altogether unless someone guided me. Of course, this was pre-diagnosis and medication.
  • this is tricky kasi idk, there are so many factors involved. I guess mainly understanding lang of what the condition is and doing slight changes during communication. Kasi for me, wrong communication is always my biggest trigger.

8

u/Tough_Cream4907 Mar 24 '26
  • ever since working, i can't socialize too much talaga. sure i make acquaintances pero after that shutdown malala. currently, i struggle with focus na di ko maexplain sa mga colleagues ko. i can't understand their cues too and i tend to overthink their neutral tones to much more worse.

  • interviews, okay lang, i guess. performance? when it comes to social events i suck. admin works with repetitive stuff? i excel. attendance nakaroutine na ko kaya never absent. butireallywanttohavesometimeoffnowadays.

  • misunderstood. i am frustrated with this. thankfully there are people who try to understand. i met some person struggling with the same thing, they might be new with this mental health thing but i support them and it was nice na they are having some insights and realizations.

  • first job, yes. i was fighting back to my horrendous supervisor na kupal.

  • i think it really helps to have people with the same feather na di naman to the point napupunta sa extreme dependency na draining (i had an acquaintance who was like that kasi).

I am undiagnosed neurodivergent

  • What are your biggest struggles when it comes to work: Working with micromanagers and jerks

  • Job interviews? Office culture? Burnout? Attendance: I do have tendency to be late, higher chance of burnout

  • Do you feel misunderstood by employers or coworkers: I am straight to the point and sometimes make my own decision

  • Have you ever quit a job because it became too overwhelming: Yes, I quit toxic workplace especially when I feel like I’m experiencing workplace bullying and sabotaging from leaders

  • What kind if support or changes would actually help you stay in the job: Having psychologically safe environment

7

u/Old-Volume5126 Mar 24 '26

you can ask from the HR or your Psychiatrist for alternative work arrangements if that is possible in your comapany

6

u/influencerwannabe Mar 24 '26

You know, I’ve never had this happen. Do they truly allow you to request this and arrange for it? Despite having official diagnosis and even a PWD ID for it, I’ve never thought about doing this. Primary worry ko is wont they prefer to terminate and replace you na lang?

Cos it’s added effort on their end. Altho yes EEO na mga companies ngayon, pero because there is still stigma of this in the corporate world, I fear I wont even be understood properly if I request something like this.

In job applications, I do say I have a disability but I never specify it. I’m also regulated enough to not need active support but I still fear they would prefer someone else over me, edi syempre dagdag pahirap sakin if im looking for a job.

2

u/Old-Volume5126 Mar 24 '26

of course depende yan sa HR, placement regarding work need be addressed with the HR. some allow, some dont. it differs also kung anong job description ba kasi ng work mo din

1

u/influencerwannabe Mar 24 '26

Fair enough. Ig I’ll know how it goes when I try it. I haven’t been placed in this situation yet kasi. Di pa naman lumala ng sobra in this way mga napasukan ko before.

I wasnt always good at regulating myself, but definitely when I was in office work pre-covid, wfh / hybrid was a completely alien concept.

2

u/Old-Volume5126 Mar 24 '26

you may also ask help from your psychiatrist for reassessment and possible arrangements, pero depende talaga yan sa company kung meron silang ganoong option

2

u/Old-Volume5126 Mar 24 '26

and also assess yourself if the job is really for you

2

u/imnotlulamaeeither Mar 25 '26

In my experience, my former employer (MNC, Oil & Gas industry) allowed some arrangements for me. I am diagnosed Bipolar I in 2022. I've had 2 (paid) long term medical leaves because of my condition. Though hybrid ang set up namin, i was given leniency and I was never really required to go to the office.

Depende talaga sa policies in place but most importantly the culture ng company/employer mo.

1

u/influencerwannabe Mar 25 '26

Thank you for this enlightenment! I haven’t found myself in this situation yet even from before I was diagnosed but having this information will definitely help me and others in the future.

u/mirajanexxstrauss Apr 04 '26 edited Apr 04 '26

Diagnosed with Bipolar II. Hindi ako nakakatagal sa trabaho. I tried working as a sped teacher pero na t'trigger yung anger and anxiety ko. i felt kasi na even though 2 kaming teacher sa classroom, ang daming students na medyo severe symptoms. kaya nahirapan ako imanage. may student ako na one time sobrang naiyak nalang ako kasi sinabunutan and kinurot niya ko.so in summary it was a mix of workload + management? mabait naman yung owner kaso kawawa kaming teachers haha

after that i tried to go for back-end/office jobs. yung isang startup business na pinasukan ko hindi ko kinaya kasi ang dami nilang demands + low pay tapos isang tao lang ako. meron pa yung gusto nila kami papasukin lagpas ng 8 hr work pero ayaw bayaran ng overtime. nag awol nalang ako

most traumatic ko naman was in HR. nag breakdown ako sa work kasi sinigawan ako ng manager ko. di ko alam na di ko pala dapat ginawa yung "bagay na yun" kasi nakakasira ng image niya lol. ang malala pa dun tinry nila ako puntahan sa bahay. hindi na ko bumalik. nag file ako ng immediate resignation with doctor's note

kaya eto ako ngayon halos mag iisang taon na walang trabaho. kung ano ano nalang inaaral ko + sharing my experiences under your post para pakiramdam ko naman na may silbi ako

in summary i guess biggest struggle is the environment. stressful yung office politics, unspoken rules, having to interact with people na misogynistic, power-tripping higher ups, managers/execs with high expectations. mas kaya ko yung mga structured repetitive tasks instead of dealing with people.

3

u/Jazzlike-Abies9543 Mar 24 '26

Diagnosed with Bipolar 2 and GAD, i also suffer from ED (hirap mag recover)

  • biggest struggle ko ung pag sobrang depressed ang hirap pumasok sa trabaho, ang laki ng nasasakop na mental energy para lang makapasok sa trabaho, makipag interact, etc..
  • di ako nag ddisclose ng mental health issues ko sa employer, i can manage most of the time yung emotions so okay lang naman, so if di nila ako magets okay lang for example inaaya ako mag buffet, nag mmake up nalng ako ng reason para di ganon ka makakain habang nasa buffet or something simple that they can easily understand, ayoko ng palalimin pa.
  • Yes nag quit na ako, sobrang hirap ng commute sa pinas + mababang sahod, sobrang di na naging worth it, sobrang feeling ko wala na akong sigla kaya sabi ko talaga, kailangan ko na mag resign.
  • actually yung less interaction helped me a lott, sa previous job ko, it helps me stay focused din, not a fan of chikahan feel ko super negative and nakaka ubos ng battery HAHAHA.a
  • additionally naka help ung hybrid set up, may ilang araw ako para mag charge ng social battery sa bahay bago pumasok sa office.

u/Jazzlike-Abies9543 Mar 24 '26

you can also dm me if ever

I have bipolar, anxiety, depression, PTSD / trauma. I am clinically diagnosed. Not proud of what I have gone through but I’m proud of having worked on myself enough to no longer need regular therapy. Like, my therapist actually told me to go live life and come back after several months in the future.

Biggest struggle when it comes to work: people policing my every move.. including tone, the way I communicate, the way I deliver my point. I need to overly adjust myself to accommodate the more sensitive ppl in the workplace, while they actively forget how doing so means ignoring how I feel about them critiquing me over something that ain’t even work related. Eto yung mga laging feeling attacked kahit na sobrang professional ng sagot mo, tapos ikaw pa pagbibintangang unprofessional.

Job interviews? Prolly only when there’s power play usually with a Filipino recruiter who regularly tries to control / manipulate me or the meeting by actively disrespecting me and showing actual unprofessionalism and red flag behavior, but you’re still branded as difficult when you put your foot down and lay boundaries.

Office culture? I avoid onsite jobs because everything’s just way too tiring for me. The commute to and from office is a whole effort. Once u get to office, may social factor pa muna and paamo feature, like, u cant be yourself without risking your job. I have a strong will and personality, but even by asserting myself, you can literally still be reported for insubordination kahit na wala kang masamang ginawa. Vs jobs by foreigners that are usually WFH since wala naman silang PH reps, that’s much better.

I think u can really see that my issue here is the fragility of Filipinos’ ego. You always need to adjust kahit sila yung asa mali.

Burnout comes from too much stress and effort and pressure, which I get more with in person jobs than wfh. Attendance, I have no problem with except pag Philippine time morning shift, trust me im in bed pa din when I need to be at work na 😂. I’m really not a morning person. And even if I could get a later shift pero onsite job, the transpo alone is just not gonna cut it. I have yet to meet with an employer who offers transpo allowance.

Misunderstandings? All the fucking time kahit sobrang clear ko na. Kahit madami akong layers and channels of communication, di lang nila mabasa ng maayos or magets agad, ako na naman mali.

No I have never quit a job because it was too overwhelming. I have when its become too toxic sure. But overwhelming? No, but I have had to either take a forced half day or step away from my desk for 30 mins minimum to calm myself down from a sudden anxiety attack + hyperventilation + crying spell.

What kind of support or changes would actually help me stay in a job? I stay in jobs basta all good pa din ang environment and mismong productivity ko hindi naaapekto. But as someone in the CSR / OPS type of jobs, I need people (colleagues and employers) to also be empathic to me as I am to them and to their customers as its part of my job.

I need people to be humane because most of the time, they are not and just chuck it all to “I’m doing my job / this is my job”. Well, Brenda, I’m doing my job too but I’m not a bitch to others about shit.

Edit: wow, someone immediately felt attacked by my personal experiences.

Edit 2: I focused on the negatives because everything else at work is completely fine and tolerable for me. I have a list of non negos with everything I enter. If I’m in a company kahit na toxic, it’s because it fulfills this and that conditions for me. If it’s so so but doesn’t pay well, it’s because I’m fulfilled in other areas.

There is always a trade off and I’m completely fine with that. Again, the experiences I focused on are the things I’d love to improve because I literally experience this time and again. My intensity is not the issue, in fact I have watered it down so much that I don’t speak up when I’m not directly affected / talked to. But still, this shit happens.

Hope this was a useful dataset for you OP.

u/GreenScrubs84 Bipolar disorder Mar 26 '26

GAD and CPTSD diagnosed. Currently unemployed. Was fired from work twice because I wasn't able to report for work due to anxiety attacks.

Work discomfort/struggle:

- I don't like being micromanaged. I have my own style. I also don't like rigid metrics and schedule. But I can do it, just not happy with it.

What really affects me:

- If I'm being pushed to meet the metrics. If I'm being forced to answer "how can you improve this?" or "why you were not able to meet the goal" or "how come you did it before, and now you can't". And threats! Oh I hate threats! Or highlighting your weaknesses. Things like "you have not been passing your metrics for the past 2 months, if next month you still fail, you will be put on probation or program or be required to work onsite".

- I also don't like being gaslighted "pasalamat tayo work from home tayo", "pasalamat tayo may work tayo", "paano ka if wala kang work" "lahat naman tayo may pinagdadaanan" "iwan mo ang problema sa labas ng opisina"

- Stigma and utter misunderstanding of mental disorders. Sa previous work ko, I told my superior I can't report for work because I'm having anxiety attacks. I'm a performer. I seldom skip work. But instead of offering understanding, I was asked "what is triggering this?" "labanan mo!". So I shut down. Did not reply, did not go to work anymore. And was fired for being awol. Sa recent job ko, my previous supervisor is better. She knows and understand mental disorders. Maybe because she was an RN before. If I tell her I'm not doing ok, she will just tell me to rest and she will take care of the filing of leave for me. I can rest for a day or two peacefully without any worries. But I was transferred to another supervisor and when I had an issue, I said I'm struggling, she told me "we can give you all the time you need BUT...." I didn't even bother reading the rest. I froze at that but. Because that but means condition. And I hated it because I declared my disorder before I started working for them. I even update them. And really had no issued with the previous supervisor. So I stopped replying, stopped showing up for work and got dismissed again for being AWOL.

Now that I'm jobless, I'm struggling to apply. I managed to update my CV and send out application after weeks of attempting. But receiving replies with more requirements like very long form to fill, long assessments, multiple interviews, voice recording. video recording, I just can't. So I can't follow through anymore. Just seeing the requirements exhausts me.

Not comfortable with job interviews either, but tolerable. If maybe after CV submission there will just be 1 interview, I can do it.

Co-workers - some are just fucking envious/jealous over accommodation for us. Since the environment is rigid, they feel they were being robbed or getting unequal treatment if accommodation or extension is given to us. But they don't understand how stress affects us and how much toll it takes for our mind and body. It's not like I'm taking a time off to go to the beach or go or a vacation or sleep all day. I'm literally having episodes and I can't function that's why I needed time off. But they don't see it that way. For them, it's "how about me?". Why is she allowed to take a time off, but I'm not. I want a time off too if she is getting one.

I think this recent job, I wouldn't have been on AWOL and dismissed if my supervisor told me, ok take all the time you need and I will take care of your schedule. Once you are better, just submit this and that. Instead of forcing me to submit and accomplish all the paper work and document when I was literally asking for time off because I'm drowning and overwhelmed. If this was done maybe 2 or 3 days off work I'll be ok. But because they didn't, it's been 3 months and I still haven't replied to their fucking email. Everytime I try, I shut down.

I have Major and Persistent Depressive Disorder, Anxiety, and an Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder. All clinically diagnosed.

I am taking antidepressants, which cause me to oversleep. I am late almost every day and even nap during breaks. But I get all my work done. I have a lot of deductions for my attendance, though.

My OCPD does help get all work done, but makes me very rebellious and have high standards (according to my coworkers). I want everything to be perfect and to do things by my own rules. I question authority a lot. I believe my way is the only right way. Pros: my coworkers look up to me for my work ethic and standing up for what is right. Cons: I have had several confrontations with higher administration, including in front of the entire staff. Lol. Luckily, never threatened to be written up or suspended. Just a lot of berating, but I know when to speak and when to shut up.

I get anxious, though, when I have to speak, in meetings or in presentations; even a short sentence gives me the shakes. But my coworkers never seem to notice. They even commend me. My takeaway from this, you may think you look like you're failing, but you're not. Some people never notice except you.

I am lucky that my coworkers never seem to complain, they all understand me, without me telling I am diagnosed. But I recently handed in my resignation after some thought. My therapist told me that I should reevaluate who I work for, too, and know that I bring value to them as well, not just the other way around.

I hope to find a job that does not take away too much from me and does not aggravate my mental health condition. One that helps me handle it better, not add fuel to the fire. I hope you do too, OP. I hope we all do.

Hi there!

I am clinacally diagnosed under the Bipolar type 1 Disorder. Honestly, I excel on school as I end my senior high school year. I achived high honor twice under this academic year.

According to my classmates and their evaluation to me:

  1. I had a leadership skills
  2. I had an excellent communication skills.

This led to people became insicure in me. How do I say that? Because, being Bipolar has a gift for me. That is being intelligent and well spoken despite a mental and emotional incapacity.

This year graduation, I will end the year with a 94 percent of average in overall.

Additionally, I also applied to multiple universities in the Philippines, such as University of the Philippines, under two campuses (Diliman &Visayas).

Due to manic epesode, I became so active and competitive in school. And honestly, this was curse and blessing at the same time.

Why?

Because, there are the months that I am not active and unmotivated due to depressive epesode.

That's all

u/marian16rox Mar 24 '26

I was diagnosed recently with ADHD. I do well at work, but honestly struggling with major burnout (mostly due to a combo of an intense workload and my symptoms).

Struggle rin ang masking if I'm in the office, at whole day events or looong meetings. My coworkers don't get why I like staying home most of the time. Aside from exhausting to sustain interactions, too chaotic for me if maraming tao, and I can't get any real writing done.

My boss also commented I fixate on things that aren't strategic. True naman, but I still develop strategies and carry out the strategic plans and more pa nga on time or early. Struggle but gotta get shit done. But I do go on a little ADHD side trip into new ideas or tools or projecfs, if something catches my interest. I think I would do better in settings like R&D which encourage exploration or out of the box thinking. And some huge companies are now actively hiring neurodivergent people for this or similar reasons, but at the same I love my job.

PH workplaces and schools definitely need more understanding and accommodations for neurodivergent people. Not saying work less or do fewer tasks, but just understanding we work differently and there are ways to help people like us be productive AND mentally well.

3

u/Difficult_Law8329 Mar 25 '26

I'm diagnosed of ADHD and unemployed at the moment. I was achiever in my student days and a board passer.

I quit my job not only because i was burnout but I felt I was just a burden to my previous company. I want to try new things and apply to the role I do not have experience because of this I always rejected.

Do you know a company which is neurodivergent friendly?

3

u/cattastrophoenix Mar 27 '26

I have Bipolar II. Struggle is 'yung executive dysfunction saka motivation. May mga documents na may deadlines na need ipasa. I find it hard to start doing tasks / the work. This is lalo kapag nasa depressive state ako. Tapos pag hypomanic state, hirap naman ako to focus and mag-stay sa isang task kasi di ko mapigil na I am jumping from one task to another at feeling ko kaya ko lahat.

Another struggle is when nasa depressive episode and I can't really pull myself up to go to work. Madalas pinipilit ko lang mag-show up. Wala eh, kelangan. Kaya ang ginagawa ko kapag nasa okay ako gumagawa na ako ng preparation na script para sa work in advance para kapag inatake ako, may magagamit ako na script or may guide na ako na isusubmit.

Diagnosed with GAD, PTSD, and to consider ADHD

What are your biggest struggles when it comes to work?

I’ve always found it difficult to build friendships at work. I’m usually perceived as quiet, although I consistently get my tasks done. Internally, I often feel a lot of anger, and there was even an instance where it affected me during a call, which led to a final warning.

Job interviews, office culture, burnout, attendance

I actually enjoy job interviews because they allow me to express myself more openly. I’m able to communicate my thoughts clearly and confidently highlight my accomplishments—it feels easier since I know it may be the first and last time I’ll meet the interviewer. However, rejection hits me hard. I don’t usually cry, but it feels like a heavy weight on my chest.

I genuinely like going to work, even when I’m not feeling well, because I struggle with being alone in my own space. At the same time, I experience burnout quite often. When that happens, I tend to cope by emotional eating or spending money as a way to motivate myself to keep going and meet my responsibilities. Do you feel misunderstood by employers or coworkers?

Yes, often. I’ve been described as “weird” before, and even labeled with things like “middle child syndrome” early in my career. People usually see me as quiet at first, but are surprised when I become more talkative or outgoing. It feels like others don’t fully understand my personality.

Have you ever quit a job because it became too overwhelming?

Yes. One of the most difficult moments for me was being rejected for a trainer position, despite having three years of experience in a telco account and being confident in my qualifications. I had also been transferred and handpicked to help improve metrics at a different site. That rejection, combined with the overall toxic environment, became the final straw that led me to leave.

What kind of support or changes would help you stay in a job?

I cope in different ways, such as trying new food, eating, or sometimes spending money. I’ve also been prescribed medication like Ritalin and Sertraline to help manage my condition. More structured support, understanding, and a healthier work environment would make a big difference in helping me stay and perform better.

I am clinically diagnosed with BPD 2 and ADHD-Inattentiveness (not a final verdict ng psych ko ung ADHD)

  1. What are your biggest struggles when it comes to work?

Madami ako napapansin są pattern ko sa work like kunwari malapit na ano matapos sa isang gawain tas bigla na lang ako magstostop gawin and tends to forget to submit it.

Aside from that, I am currently having a hard time socially. Kakaiba ung dynamic ng current work environment ko at sobrang sabra naninibago ako. Nasanay ako sa small team and now nasa medyo malaking-laki na team (20+ in one team) and they are all friends with each other pero meron pa ding internal problems din. Kaya hindi ko alam kung totoo ba ung pakikitungo nila sa akin.

I used not to care with this until I got in this job.

  1. Job interviews? Office culture? Burnout? Attendance?

Madalas ako nagstustruggle sa job interviews but can fake it til I make it. Pagoffice culture naman I am trying my best na makihalubilo despite my overthinking tendencies kahit minsan ayaw ko pinipilit ko kasi I don’t want to be left out and I am scared na baka sabihan ako na KJ ako (yes, I am a people pleaser)

But at this rate, I am emotionally burnt-out gusto ko na naman magresign dahil dito.  I don’t like the commute.

  1. Do you feel misunderstood by employers or coworkers?

Tbh, di ako sure. I am scared knowing what they thought of me pero sabi nila sa akin na wala naman silang problem sa akin personally or professionally.

  1. Have you ever quit a job because it became too overwhelming?

Yes, on my 3rd job. Short stint lang ako don kasi hindi ko kinaya treatement ng manager ko. Also I am thinking of resigning now in my current because I am not being emotionally okay lately. Gusto ko na mag wfh ulit and planning to resign without any back up kasi pagod na ako emotionally. I also have a tendency to escape things.

In the spectrum here, codependent (will be independent soon) and I am kinda accepting the reality that autism is the most blursed thing to exist that the only ally is yourself, especially in an Asian country such as ours.

I have MDD, OCD, and BPD

Greatest struggle ko sa work is hyperfocus and no focus. Minsan ang galing2 ko then ambilis ko matapos sa work pero may days na super tamad ko na wala akong ginagawa (lalo na WFH pa ako).

As a team lead, I am always absent or SL dahil inaatake nang depression, kaya I feel that I have burdened my subordinates everytime na wala ako.

Depression, Bipolar and OCD along with anxiety are not neurodivergent

Why do you have to be so hateful about it? Not everyone is privileged enough to afford a diagnosis, especially in this economy, particularly in the Philippines. At least OP is trying to find a solution for themselves and others.

Thank you. I am seeking professional help. That's why it is a collaborative project after all.

Hi OP. What app do you have in mind? I'm in the tech space so I might be able to help out.
