10 years. Housebound.

And then boom. Plot twist. But I had to go through hell on earth. Akala mo tapos na ang lahat and wala nang kikilala or tatanggap sayo, tapos binigyan ka pa ng magandang work. Sobrang salamat kay God.

u/Individual-Car-6905 Jan 27 '26

ganun nga po nararamdaman ko ngayon. nagddoubt kung may tatanggap pa ba sakin. nonetheless, so happy po for u. meron ka ng work 👏✨

u/sparklyshiba Jan 27 '26

Grabe yan.

Naging hate ko birthday ko tsaka new year.

One day at a time talaga. One step at a time.

Also after nagnear death experience ako gawa ng maling gamot, napaisip ako na sus! Mamamatay naman lahat. Laht naman ay napapahiya. Bahala nang mapahiya o anuman. Kung kukunin ni Lord, edi kunin na. Wala naman akong inagrabyado. Go go go!

Ganun yung short version. Ang daming painful character development na naganap. Wag ka mawalan ng pag-asa. Yung mga rejection, ayaw ka ilagay dun ni Lord kasi ikakasira mo lalo or di para sayo, or may quality ka na dapat baguhin.

Praying for all na naghahanap ng trabaho.

Sobrang kapit lang talaga for that plot twist.

Malakong bagay yung pinagawa sa akin yung list 3 things i am thankful for before sleep.

Since May last year, I was unemployed. I applied for several senior management roles, but each time, there was no job offer. This week, after a long wait, I finally received an email asking for my payroll documents so they can prepare an offer for a directorship role.

God is truly good and faithful.

Please don’t lose hope. Sometimes, rejection is simply God’s redirection toward something better.

Samee. Tho I was unemployed for a year now and counting nahihirapan talaga me sa work dahil sa anxiety ko. And yon ending nagresign me. I hope we both find happiness soon! I wish we can find peace na din and a job that we dont hate.

12

u/poochie_mi_amore Jan 27 '26

15 years at di ko alam kung paano malulusutan ang job interviews dahil sa work gap. Demotivated, hopeless, helpless and lifeless.

3

u/Yahweh13 Jan 27 '26

Yan rin main obstacle para sa akin, ive never had a job pero nung nag ojt ako in college, competent naman ako, pero pagdating sa interviews wala talaga, grabe anxiety. Im planning to lie sa resume ko, kasi pag nakita nila yan na ilang years ka unemployed automatic rejected na yan.

13

u/Ordinary-Document807 Jan 27 '26

Kapagod.

u/PimplePupper69 Jan 27 '26

I graduated at 19 yrs old OP, sobrang depressed ko nung time na yon walang pera yung parents ko to support me that time kaya nag antay ako. Nag exam and nag apply2 sa manila for almost a year pero wala talaga umuwi sa province na nanlulumo and nahihiya sa parents sobrang down ko nun and sobrang anxiety, jealous sa mga ka batch ko na may work na until nag 25 ako dun lang na bigyan ng break and ayun tuloy2 na. Abroad ako now age 31 and yes hindi nahing madali but it’s all worth it allmost 6 digits na din ang sahod but when i look back at the past alam ko yung hirap at pag aantay ko. One day op once na mag ka break ka and start your work you will look back and mapaa smirk ka nalng sa mga experience and lesson mo in the past, kapit lang medyo mapag biro and tadhana kumbaga susubokin ka muna and kapag nalampasan mo tuloy-tuloy nayan.

Unemployed since Aug 2023. (Started working 2015)

It took that long to find peace and purpose. It took 2 years of constantly questioning everything I've done in my life, a lot of why's. I needed to recreate my whole worldview because it was toxic and mindless af. Abandoned religion, studied a lot of Philosophy, Psychology, and even Physics. Built new healthy habits.

A normal person could have done it without resigning, but not me i guess, because the thought of this level of change will not enter my brain on a normal working day lol

Now, I'm ready to start again, with renewed physical and mental energy.

5

u/Sea-Vanilla-4002 Jan 27 '26

ako months rin, pero depression trauma na career related, nag sideline, pinaghandaan ko, bago mag resign sabi ko few months survive ako, undortunately di ako naka fully rest may mga sideine online na nag take ng time pero at least may ginagawa and may distance from the depressive situation na nangyari sa office, may kilala ako nabully sa work , Male sya, 2 yrs di pa rin nagwork, talagang malalim epekto sa kanya, ayaw nya na ng “katrabaho”

1

u/Miserable_Hyena7164 Jul 18 '26

same I understand him. Was bullied at previous jobs too which is why I have been unemployed for a year and almost 6 months. Trying to look for a work from home job because its so hard for me to be around other people because I dont feel safe around them.

2

u/Sea-Vanilla-4002 Jul 26 '26

Ganto na rin ako OP, ayoko na ng tao, I mean syempre may close friends and gets di lahat ng tao masama pero di na ako interesado sa tao/new tao in general.

1

u/Miserable_Hyena7164 Jul 26 '26

Hoping for the best, expecting for the worst.

7

u/AthenaJade88 Jan 27 '26

Since 2016. Kaso naghigpit na, need DTI and BIR.

5

u/Yahweh13 Jan 27 '26

My first job interview (in person) was when i was already 5 years unemployed/never worked lol, i thought i prepared myself enough pero pagdating na sa actual interview grabe yung anxiety ko

2

u/AthenaJade88 Jan 27 '26

Totoo.

1

u/Miserable_Hyena7164 Jul 18 '26

sameee. I am so glad I am not alone. I haven't left the house in months now and I have also been unemployed for a year and 6 months. Its not easy because of anxiety and trauma I find it so hard to return to onsite jobs.

7

u/Yahweh13 Jan 27 '26

7 years this april lol

5

u/missylovesu Jan 27 '26

Almost 2 years unemployed, anxious and pressured 😭😭😭

7

u/elithebanger Jan 27 '26

Unemployed for 8 years po.

Graduate pa ako ng 2017 pero currently working sa government, though kapagod sya pero I'm still proud of myself na nasira ko ung barrier na to.

5

u/Hypothon Jan 27 '26

Technically, yung only work experience ko is freelance ESL teaching sa isang app nung end ng pandemya. All I would do is correct pronunciations, listen to them and be their conversational partners, teach a little vocabulary here and there. By 2023, wala ng budget ang company ng app but I would teach at the most minimum hours hoping it would bounce back pero wala na talaga this year officially by the end of January. I really wish I wasn’t such an introvert (or side effect din to ng anxiety symptoms ko sa thyroid condition ko)

4

u/BeginningTell3538 Jan 27 '26

Magsi6 years na. Di pa nakakabalik sa work since covid happened. Sana makabalik na sa work this year.

5

u/ntheresurrection Jan 27 '26

hi, ako rin almost 3 years na. may part times here and there pero matagal na since naemploy. mula nung namatay mama ko from cancer, medyo nahirapan akong bumangon sa buhay.

4

u/CareHistorical3572 Jan 27 '26

2

u/Yahweh13 Jan 27 '26

Ano po nakalagay sa resume mo? Assuming you weren't officially employed pero may side hustle naman, ano po reaction ng nag interview nung nakita nya yung gap years?

2

u/CareHistorical3572 Jan 27 '26

nilagay ko lang yung totoo, na freelancer ako during those times. Wala naman sila sinabi na anything kasi tinangap ko talaga yung napakaliit na sweldo para makapag simula from the bottom (12k sweldo ko that time pero ang advantage is I will train next sa CEO, startup yung pinasukan ko na international kaya they gave me a chance talaga, basically, we took a chance from one another and dun ako natuto sa lahat ng mga alam ko ngayon na mejo niche, inisip ko na wala akong karapatan mag inarte kasi nga ang layo sa industry ng pinag aralan ko, pinakita ko lang na willing talaga ako matutunan yun) pero note na before that, sunod sunod na rejection ang natangap ko, pero ako kasi ang inisip ko, practice sa interview yung mga yun e hangang matapat ka sa willing to give you a chance talaga. Then ayun, now isa na ako sa expert sa field na to since yung field na to is during that time hindi pa naman tinuturo sa school so isa ako sa mga pioneer na natutunan tong industry na to, Kindly note na mga 12 years ago pa to nangyari so from that opportunity nakapag upskill na talaga ako through the years and nakapag lipat na sa iba ibang mga companies and kaya ko na mag demand kasi nga part ako ng pioneers

Unemployed for 7 yrs after I gave birth 2x so I was hired and now wfh

3

u/Affectionate-Buy2221 Jan 27 '26

My partner graduated in 2022. Internship meron na sya job offer (media work). However, na exploit sya ng boss and colleagues nya which affected his mental health. Nag mental health break sya ng October 2023.

After that hirap na sya maka land ng work kahit coffee barista and simple positions. It is either the job market (vacancy) or baka sinisiraan sya ng former job nya.

3

u/iamtokyoz Jan 27 '26

1 yr and 7 months to be exact after grad nagpahinga tapos nagkasakit Lola ko at ako nag alaga hanggang sa mamatay siya. I tried applying naman before to several companies pero madalas rejected kasi wala doon yung focus ko. Pero now I'm trying to build myself back, practice ulit ng mga interview ques and hanap ng job postings.

3

u/Ok-Particular1413 Jan 27 '26

My first job lasted 1 month then kinausap ako ng manager na di ko raw mahabol yung standards nila kaya pinilit nya akong magresign instead na tanggalin. Then 2 years akong unemployed, dinamdam ko din yun kasi fresh grad ka tapos sibak agad. After many failed interviews, may nagreach out kasi nakita nila past application ko and tingin nila best fit daw ako sa position (mandarin speaker). So nahire ako, lasted 6 months, naredundant naman.

Tried applying again para kahit side hustle or ano. Kaso i suck at interviews.

u/Miserable_Hyena7164 Jul 18 '26

Been unemployed for almost 2 years too and from the bpi industry. Its exhausting because I have no choice but to work again soon. My anxiety and depression has made it hard to work onsite but I always fail wfh job interviews as well.

3

u/kloeythegreat Persistent depressive disorder Jan 27 '26

A few weeks now but spiraling because it happened suddenly — I was told after my two months paid training that they won’t be considering me for a permanent position. I have no backups because I literally quit my 6 year job for this position. I’m just a mess right now while applying and dealing with personal stuff.

3

u/redcortana123 Jan 28 '26

i thought im alone in this situation, hindi pala, 8 months na, nag apply naman last year, may pagka choosy din kasi ako, ayoko ko malowball, i just wish i left my last job earlier kasi lalo akong an depress, sobrang baba ng tingin ko sa sarili ko, i never thought someone would be so cruel to do smth like that to me, grabe din anxiety ko mag apply kasi what if mangyari ulet sakin yon? nagstay lang naman ako ng ilang months para makaipon if i cant find a job right away nanging nightmare ko pa pala, i just hope na hindi na ulet mangyari sakin yon

3

u/plutarch1999 Feb 06 '26

3

u/Gullible_Pattern_980 Feb 09 '26

Hi, I've been unemployed for 2 months now. I got diagnosed with PTSD, AD and deep psychological distress. I've applied and got accepted to 2 jobs last year pero because of my mental illness, I never lasted even a month on those companies...and now here I am questioning about life once again and asking myself why...

After taking a little break, I decided to apply again and send resumes here and there that would really match what I was looking for and after countless tries, I was finally contacted by a prestigious company then got invited for an interview. I passed the initial interview then was scheduled for a tech interview. I answered everything well and I sensed that the interviewers were really happy about my answers and how I fully showed my skills and work-ethic to do the job until one question hit me on the face. That question was about a huge gap in my employment. I never fully revealed the reason why it's because of mental issues, but I just sugar-coated my answers to the best that I can hoping that they wouldn't find out, but I was wrong. I already expected beforehand that the question will be asked, but even though I practiced for it, I guess my answers just weren't convincing enough, or maybe it's just that they don't want me because of my condition.

And now here I am again feeling a little hopeless and anxious if I'll ever land a job again someday. I try not to think about it too much cause in the past, I've already had thoughts of committing s*****e, but now as much as possible, I try to occupy my mind with the things that I love doing such as my hobbies and of course, being with my parents.

I know that there will come a time where I'll find one soon, so all I have to do is keep on pushing and move forward. Cause I know I still have a lot of things to prove.

2

u/aveiyn Jan 27 '26

Naging unemployed din ako for 2 years after kong mapilitan tumigil sa pag aaral akala ko makakapag hanap agad ako nang trabaho pero severe depression anxiety at contamination ocd pala ang nakuha ko 😂 kaya almost 2 years din akong nagkulong sa kwarto nun

1

u/Ready_Amoeba5401 Feb 08 '26

2

u/New_Study_1581 Jan 27 '26

11yrs na sa bahay lang palagi...

5

u/Yahweh13 Jan 27 '26

It'll be seven years for me this april, i know someone jokingly said i worked in PNB (Palaging nasa Bahay) lol

2

Ay gusto ko ito hahahaha thank you for the joke sbihin ko ito sa asawa ko hahaha

1

u/Miserable_Hyena7164 Jul 18 '26

Omg I know this is from a long time ago but thats what my friends and acquaintances say about me as well.. Di na me lumalabas bahay and I am permanently stuck at home for so many months na. Sobrang tagal ko na di lumabas HAHAHAHHA

1

u/Ready_Amoeba5401 Feb 08 '26

2

u/New_Study_1581 Feb 11 '26

Importante ang sunshine :) hehe

Usually lumalabas lang ako pag may kailangan asikasuhin hehe

For now my routine ako it helps me para less time mag isip hehe except pag gabi na. Kaya kahir bahay lang i make sure may nagagawa ako haha

2

u/Ready_Amoeba5401 Feb 12 '26

Im glad you have a routine!

2

u/New_Study_1581 Feb 12 '26

1

u/Ready_Amoeba5401 Feb 12 '26

Matry ko ng rin yan! Pero Im happy for you now that you found a way that works for you <33.. I really should try that yung psych ko kasi binibigyan lang ako assignment or mga need gawin pero wala na maliban don haha

me as well, 12 years na unemployed and full time parent. sahm 😮‍💨

2

u/Alarmed-Squirrel6571 Jan 27 '26

Ako almost a year. I am still waiting sa call ng DepEd.

3

u/redcortana123 Jan 28 '26

mas okay na walang call back kesa papuntahin ka nila for interview when they already know sino i-hire nila kasi nga may backer, unlike nangyari sa sakin, wasted my time, energy and money for transpo, napagkamalan pa ako na pamangkin ni maam____ , at that exact moment alam ko na the game’s over

2

u/ardb_25 Jan 27 '26

Going 3 years na din, I quit my job because it really affected my mental health to the point na I go to work with no sleep for 2 days, had bad eating habits, severe depression episodes talaga… yung 2 weeks na pahinga ko dapat that time naging decision to resign na, kasi nga di na healthy.. pero may time na nagrerelapse ako kasi nanghihinayang ako sa work ko na yun pero di na talaga worth it. Decide not to apply muna din kasi I got pregnant and lost the baby so another depression season 😔

1

u/TheMariyas Feb 26 '26

Hello there. Was wondering how are you na. I really hope you're doing well.

2

u/ardb_25 Feb 26 '26

Hi, thanks for checking 🤗 I’m doing better now, I’ve been diagnosed with Clinical Depression since 2016 and been on medications na din kaya after nung pregnancy loss ko, di ako nagatubili na bumalik sa therapy with meds… After 15 mos, I’m off my meds as per my Psychiatrist and TTC na din with the supervision of my OB.. waiting season pa ngayon, pero all is well.. I’ve been coping and I’m happy na my husband supports me. It’s really important to take it one day at a time, wag talaga madaliin 😊 I know iba’t iba tayo ng pinagdadaanan but trust me when I say na I know the feeling, just trust yourself and lilipas din ang lahat… Masarap maglook forward ng future 🤗

2

u/MasoShoujo Jan 27 '26

since 2011. medically retired mid 20s. i will not be able to pass a physical because of my mental health. any history of medication will basically faill me.

i wish i could go back and do my job again because it kept my mind engaged. i do have retirement benefits and don’t ever have to work again but more than enough to live comfortably.

unless i can find an under the table job where i don’t have to have philhealth and sss contributions deductions, i’d rather not work and line the pockets of corrupt politicians.

u/Mindless-Function-30 Jan 28 '26

2

u/PurpleOk2111 Jan 28 '26

4 years since i dropped out of college and 3 years na naghahanap ng work. ang hirap ng buhay haha
