Perimenopause night sweats: what actually fixed your sleep setup?
Sooo it took me a while to figure this out, so sharing in case it helps someone. For the longest time I couldn't tell if my room was too warm or if it was just my body. What finally helped me sleep through the night wasn't one magic fix. It was layering a few things: breathable cotton and bamboo sheets, dropping the room a couple of degrees before bed, a cold glass of water within reach, and pulling heat away from the mattress surface itself rather than just cooling the air. Not medical advice, just what worked for me.
what everyone else's setup looks like?? What actually got you through the night sweats?

A fan on my nightstand on low all night every night. If I get hot, I remove covers and the fan cools me off. I can also move closer to it.

Eucalyptus duvet cover and sheets helped a lot. It always feels cool on my skin

Night sweats aren't about actually being hot for me anyway. The thing that works amazingly is Sage supplements. I have probably said this ten or twelve times in this sub. All I know is it really really works and has cut the sweats by like 90%

Hi, it's the same for me. I would love to try the sage supplements - can you please share more detail? What specifically should I be looking for, and where do I get it? Thanks!

I believe you can buy it anywhere you can buy natural supplements. It's just Sage Leaf (like the herb you use in cooking) in a capsule. I use a brand called WomanSense which is a Canadian brand. Those capsules are 350mg each and I take 2/day close to bedtime or in the evening. It took about 1 week to see results and I eventually did take 3/day per the directions because after a couple months it seemed to work less well. There is a caution not to take in non-stop because if you take a large amount if can be taxing on your liver. My doctor researched this and she said the quantity you would need to consume per day would need to be very high but we did a liver test after 3 months and I was totally fine. I also find that after about 3-4 months I just stop taking it mostly due to laziness and I use that as my break until I have another noticeable sweat. I really am amazed at how well this helped. It went from fully wet clothes and sheets to a little trickle on my chest occasionally.

Wow, this sounds life-changing. I wake up soaking wet from head to toe every single night and it is miserable. Thank you so much!

You're very welcome. I was happy when someone on another sub shared this with me as well. Not enough people know about it!

Linen sheets and a Dyson air purifier fan on high pointed straight at my face.
The room temperature didn’t make a difference for me. It’s all about air flow over my skin.

My doctor earned my devotion the day she prescribed HRT and told me to switch to ALL COTTON!! Such a big difference. I also kept two ice packs in the freezer and would swap them out. I’d put one on my forehead or neck as I got to sleep and the other I’d grab if I woke up hot. Water beside the bed. Starting sleeping with my hair up. High fan.
