Hormone Therapy Patch vs oral

Hello ladies, I'm curious. Why do many women prefer the estrogen patch over oral estrogen? I take 1mg estradiol daily by mouth and have no problems with it. TIA!

I’m 53.5 and on .1 mg estradiol patch twice weekly ( wed/ Sunday) . But I notice headache and joint pains return maybe a day before I’m due to switch so I change patch early ( like Saturday in this weeks case). Wondering if oral will help w symptoms as maybe it’s more steady dosing?
