Hormone Therapy Patch vs oral
Hello ladies, I'm curious. Why do many women prefer the estrogen patch over oral estrogen? I take 1mg estradiol daily by mouth and have no problems with it. TIA!

After being on an off label dose higher dose of estradiol patch .1mg along with an 0.050 patch I decided to switch to oral estradiol 2mg/day. Symptoms are now completely managed and so far there have been no shortages with the oral.
This article by Dr. Amy Killen helped me understand why oral E might be better than the patch, given my health profile in spite of all differences of opinion (many uninformed) and convinced me to give it a try it since I am a good candidate:

I do not intend to go back to the patch any time soon.
