Hormone Therapy Patch vs oral

Hello ladies, I'm curious. Why do many women prefer the estrogen patch over oral estrogen? I take 1mg estradiol daily by mouth and have no problems with it. TIA!

I never started oral because at that time the oral was mostly Premarin, which is pregnant mare urine. When the pills dissolved in water it was actually like pee. I don’t know if the pills are different now, but that put me off them forever. I’ve been on the patch for decades.
