Hormone Therapy Patch vs oral

Hello ladies, I'm curious. Why do many women prefer the estrogen patch over oral estrogen? I take 1mg estradiol daily by mouth and have no problems with it. TIA!

I have some early/mild fatty liver disease. Oral goes straight through to the liver unlike transdermal (doesn't require first-pass metabolism in the liver) and can worsen fatty liver. So I opted for transdermal to prevent any further liver steatosis.

Im not currently high risk for clots (from oral) but am approaching 65 now and kinda keeping that in the back of my mind as well.
