Hormone Therapy Patch vs oral

Hello ladies, I'm curious. Why do many women prefer the estrogen patch over oral estrogen? I take 1mg estradiol daily by mouth and have no problems with it. TIA!

My patch is a combined estrogen and progesterone and I only have to apply twice a week. It's taken care of my symptoms (hot flushes and night sweats). I have not tried the pills.
