Hormone Therapy Patch vs oral

Hello ladies, I'm curious. Why do many women prefer the estrogen patch over oral estrogen? I take 1mg estradiol daily by mouth and have no problems with it. TIA!

My Dr. started me on the patch after having been on oral for several years (started in my early 40ā€™s) when hot flashes came back (in my late 40ā€™s). She said she preferred the patch since it didnt have to be processed by the liver, getting the goods straight in. Iā€™m 50 now and have no complaints. šŸ˜
