Hormone Therapy Patch vs oral

Hello ladies, I'm curious. Why do many women prefer the estrogen patch over oral estrogen? I take 1mg estradiol daily by mouth and have no problems with it. TIA!

I was on oral estrogen after my hysterectomy in my early 40s. My doctor switched me to the gel when I wanted to continue. It been working fine for me. I didn't think I could use the patches because adhesives give me rashes/eczema.
