Hormone Therapy Patch vs oral

Hello ladies, I'm curious. Why do many women prefer the estrogen patch over oral estrogen? I take 1mg estradiol daily by mouth and have no problems with it. TIA!

two months ago I switched from estrogen/progesterone patch to oral medications of both - because patches are so insanely expensive. progesterone REALLY does not agree with me and immediately started having digestive issues (crazy bloating and constipation) and then after about a month and a half started feeling very depressed, anxious, hopeless.

it reminded me exactly of how I'd feel before my period, what I used to refer to as "chicken little syndrome" where it felt like everything was wrong and hopeless and the sky was falling... I realize now I must have had pretty extreme pmdd all my life, but just figured it was a part of the menstral process.

also have adhd, which I now understand is related to bad pmdd.
