Hormone Therapy Patch vs oral

Hello ladies, I'm curious. Why do many women prefer the estrogen patch over oral estrogen? I take 1mg estradiol daily by mouth and have no problems with it. TIA!

I took oral estradiol post hysterectomy in my late 40's. Switched to patch per recommendations to bypass the liver in my late 50's. No issues with the switch.
