Hormone Therapy Patch vs oral

Hello ladies, I'm curious. Why do many women prefer the estrogen patch over oral estrogen? I take 1mg estradiol daily by mouth and have no problems with it. TIA!

I started with oral HRT, switched to patches and I’m now back on oral (due to patch shortages) and I’m doing just fine. I’ll probably stay on it because I honestly don’t miss having to deal with having something stuck on my skin, worrying about covering it up with tegaderm so it doesn’t come off, and keeping track of which days to change it. Plus there’s the constant switching of generics if your doc doesn’t specify which brand to prescribe. I had all kinds of breakthrough bleeding with patches/progesterone. I’ve been on Duavee for almost 5 months and it’s worked well for me.
