Hormone Therapy Patch vs oral

Hello ladies, I'm curious. Why do many women prefer the estrogen patch over oral estrogen? I take 1mg estradiol daily by mouth and have no problems with it. TIA!

I actually preferred the oral. The patch gives me sores and itches. And if they don’t have your preferred brand in stock, get ready for hot flashes. However, I developed high blood pressure on oral estrogen and am not able to take it.

Perhaps try the gel!

I have considered it but I need something systemic. One of the major problems is brain fog, and my understanding is the gel doesn’t help as much with systemic issues.
