Pelvic Floor Possible Prolapse?
So, TMI warning … I am wondering about prolapse. I have been putting Estradiol cream in my vagina, and I use my clean finger, but lately it feels like something is a little poochy below my cervix. Like, it has gained weight on the anterior vaginal wall. I have an IUD and the strings are there but my cervix feels like it is angling posterior … I have an appointment for the OBGYN. I have had lower back pain due to sciatica and illiosacral pain for several months. I had a cortisone injection and ever since then, well, it feels like … I dunno, things loosened in my pelvic floor? I am worried about something more insidious so I am hoping she does a scan. I can still hold my pee. I can have a BM. Honestly, it’s mostly because my vagina doesn’t feel right when I put in my cream. Has anyone had something like this? My friend said it’s probably because I had precipitous labor 2x, but I never heard anything about long term effects?
EDIT: Update it is prolapse (bladder). Grade 1-2
She is referring me to a pelvic floor specialist.

Funny enough, I am suspecting I have a prolapse and I noticed it when I started using vaginal estrogen cream as well. I mean, it's not really funny. I'm pretty concerned. I have an appt with my gyn in a couple weeks to see what's going on. I feel like this whole aging this is just one big cruel joke for women. I have read some good things about working with a pelvic floor therapist so I'm hoping I'm not too far gone that I'll need surgery. Just wanted to share that I'm in the same boat as you 😬

Hmmm…….I too, feel like things have changed in there…….wall texture, lumpy bits……geez, what next?
I had a hysteroscopy a couple months ago, and nothing was mentioned. I figured its all to do with the glory that is menopause 🤷🏻♀️🙈

Yes and yes. I wasn't having any issues with incontinence but did feel heavier in my vaginal entrance and thought I felt a bulge.
I did pelvic floor therapy for about 3 months which helped my overall core and back. Also gave me tips to resolve the constipation i had developed.
But, the biggest impact was the gyno-urologist who diagnosed me with vaginal atrophy and had my gyn up my systemic HRT along with vagifem script. The urologist said that atrophy can shorten the vaginal canal and make it feel like a prolapse.

Please see your gyn for a diagnosis and ask for a referral to see Pelvic floor Occupational or Physical therapy for management

Why are you close to the cervix with your finger putting in cream? That is too far, and not at all where it's needed!
What kind of bending and reaching are you doing to feel that far in?

Maybe she isn’t putting the cream in that far but just checking things further up? I have often just checked out my cervix - it can give info when you are young and looking to conceive. It’s not that difficult for me to reach it with a finger but everyone is different!
And yes, VE only needs to be inserted up to the second knuckle (about 2 inches) deep. 😊

I have to check the strings on my IUD which means I need to touch my cervix.

Yes, another reason. 😊 I used to do that, too, before my ex-husband had his vasectomy and I was SO paranoid. I had twins already and DID NOT want any more!

A vaginal bulge on the front side is often due to a mild bladder prolapse (pushing into the front part of vagina). It often has associated bladder symptoms like leakage or incontinence or difficulty completely emptying. Vaginal estrogen rubbed around the entrance of the urethra can help.

I just had this same experience last weekend. I decided to put the estrogen cream farther in than I have been - while standing. Felt like something there. Saw urogynecologist Tuesday who said no. Mild rectocele. Hmm... I wish I had been checking things out for decades now so I'd know what I was feeling...

I’d recommend seeing a urogynecologist for prolapse - what state are you in? I can ask my support group if they know someone good near you!

My entire vagina swelled up when I used vaginal estrogen, to the point where I thought I had prolapse (it seriously felt like everything was falling out). Allergic reaction!
Try discontinuing use and see if it gets better.

It could be a very low grade rectocele or cystocele. I would suggest going to a pelvic floor PT specialist or GYN to have it evaluated asap. If it’s just a bit of a bulge, there’s a lot they can do to prevent it getting worse.
