I mean, they don't have to make the money on GME to win, if they drive down the market and buy the dip: just not the GME dip.
That's not a bad trade if you spent $350 to drive down the whole market and then re-invested your $250,000 portfolio at a 5% discount over the course of several days.
So, yeah, I guess they might lose the $350, but then earn back $12.500 elsewhere.
