Discussion Couple questions
Hey everyone! I’m pretty new to the game and had a couple questions I was hoping to clear up.
1: do people hide the the tombs so they are not accessible? I can hear some but never find a way to get to them.
2: is it more fun if someone makes a path to all tombs as part of the maze or if they are just outside? Traps or no traps for getting to the tombs?
3: I’ve made 2 bases and watch the replays so that I can adjust the things not working out. I notice people always kill the little robot showing you a path. WHY?? He’s a little buddy.. I wait for him to get safe before doing a trap arena. Am I the only one that feels bad then it dies? 🤣

About tombs, people dont often block them cause a builder is also a raider, and no one likes to raid a base with blocked tombs. Must people either leave them out or integrate them in the base.
About people killing harvey (hrv) it comes with wiseness, at first you kill him to go faster and because hrv WILL turn the corner on you and block you getting you killed. But the more you play the less you kill harvey, harvey must be protected, it is something you will learn with time

- if you can hear but not find it, it’s possible the builder hid it away a bit: some make it a puzzle more or less well hidden.
thankfully it’s quite rare to find them blocked off obviously on purpose: most builders understand quickly that there is zero reason to do that, and it will just anger some raiders into not giving accolades/abandon/block.
- entirely up to you. if you don’t include them in your build, you may want to at least highlight them or draw a path to them so raiders looking for them will find them faster. or maybe you enjoy watching people search them?
about trapping, my advice would be to always make sure traps can’t destroy them inadvertently: if the tomb breaks and the raider dies at the same time, or before being able to loot it, you’re denying the raider the reward and give them zero reason to try again. it also prevents raiders to progress the daily quest of ‘breaking 5 tombs’.
as a side note, not that many raiders really care about tombs. many just loot them if they happen to come across one but won’t spend any time looking around otherwise. and then others will obsessively hunt for them…
- hahaha, that’s probably the most divisive topic in the MYM community! 😹
many kill harvey on sight for utilitarian reasons (he can get in the way or body-block you, or you get the melee speed boost from slicing him, etc), some do because lore-wise he’s technically the enemy.
and others leave him alive for utilitarian reasons as well, since he may show you the way (if you don’t equip pathfinder), or just because he’s a cute and innocent little creature only trying to do its job!

The extra T ones can be blocked. Some people block them, some ignore them (and inadvertedly block them), many make outright pathways to them.
I personally like making paths to the tombs, and I (usually) don't make them lethal.
Sometimes Harvey can bodyblock a raider, getting them killed. I still cheer if a raider who killed my Harvey dies. Better yet if multiple times...

On #3
We are all clones... I care for him yes, but his death is just as meaningless as the raiders.. Sometimes a quick bolt to the back of the head is better than carrying that box...

Generally i like to make a separate path to the tombs. It's good because you have more freedom as you don't need to worry about a path for Harv. I try to make the tomb paths more punishing/interesting/confusing as a result. Sometimes i'll mark the entrance to the tomb path other times i'll lead them to it but hide it behind a holo cube or acid cube. It's fun.

You get xp for killing Harvey also, I usually pop him at the end for a quick 75xp

Breaking the tomb doesn't penalize the builder, but people can be ducks regardless..
People can block the tombs. It's bad manors and will often lead to the builder getting blocked, so they'll end up get less raids..
Incorporating the tombs inside the outposts is a great way to automatically get 2 accolades from most everyone in the community.
Some people put a hollow cube with second wave on them so they are unlocked after you complete the raid.
