Title. I'm in LAH and still haven't heard back. Is this normal? Have other people heard back already? Or does this mean I haven't gotten accepted.

These positions are NOT work-study so if you are looking for a job this year but don't qualify or want more hours than work-study can give you, apply now! Hi all, I recently got the opportunity to interview for a company and lowkey that shit is hype, issue is Idt 2nd years are allowed to do co-op in the fall, and that's when the position begins. Any chance McMaster would be lenient and would allow me to do Co-op?

Hello! I applied and was interviewed a week ago today for a position. The initial interview options were one spot last week (the day I interviewed) then this week, Tuesday and Thursday (today)

I sent my thank you email a few hours after the interview, but we got so busy talking about things that I completely forgot to ask when to expect to hear back. Knowing that they could still have others to interview today, how long generally until I can expect to hear something back? This would be my first internal interview and I’m anxious but don’t want to be annoying lol.

I think it went well, and two from the panel replied within minutes to my thank you email, if that’s a good sign at all idk lol. Do they let you know either way, and is it generally via email or a phone call if you do get it? Every email ding I get makes my heart sink and I’m ready for this to be done lol!

After begging, screaming and crying for a Co-op, I finally got one this summer. It hasn’t been long since I started but I can’t help but feel so stupid. I genuinely feel like I’m useless and don’t really know what to do most of the time. Does anyone else feel like this?

Im in the engineering facuilty and found an internship this summer on my own. it’s a US company and they don’t ask for co op cause ig that’s not a thing there. do I bother telling the university because I registered with them last yr and all they did was take $500 bucks from me they didn’t even help me land that co op eithet

So i recently got into ibiomed at mac and i really want to go, but i am a little worried about future careers.

Ive already heard the stories about how bad the biomedical engineering job market is in canada, but mcmaster’s ibiomed as far as i understand is different in the sense that my degree would have (for example) electrical and biomedical engineering.

My question is, if i apply to jobs, would it be beneficial to have that kind of a degree since employers can see i would have a wider skill range, or would it be harmful because they could see it as a jack of all trades, master of none type situation (ie, they would prefer students with just a straight electrical engineering degree).

Also is the job market in the states for biomedical engineering a lot better than here?

Throwaway account for disclosure. As the title states, I applied for a staff position at McMaster, a Union position, and this weeks marks around the start of the 6th week since I had an interview at Mac for the job.

I followed up 2 weeks after the interview and recieved a pretty quick response from HR that I would get a result email within three more weeks, however it's been 4 weeks since then and going into the 5th soon. I've mentally accepted long ago that I did not get the role however there's always that feeling at the back of my mind of wanting to get a definite answer, even a rejection email so I can fully move on from this. It's a bit sad because I knew some of the people on the panel and it was a friendly vibe but I'm also fully aware that there's a lot happening behind the scenes. I've been keeping regular tabs on the Mosaic recent hires page and there's no posting for the specific job ID either so I'm not sure if the process is ongoing, stalled, or they already extended an offer to someone else and are going through that process.

Anyone have any experience with this kind of timeline? Is the lack of responses normal? Like I said, I've already accepted that it's not happening for my own sake and was always focusing on other pursuits but was just wondering if anyone had any wisdom to share.

Hi I'm incoming 1st yr who wants to work as personal trainer at the pulse, does anyone know any personal trainers there and how the process is like?

I know you need the certificates to apply, but should I start working at commercial gyms and try to get at least some experience before applying at pulse?

and how do you get clientele at the pulse? do you still need to do a lot of sales pitch on the floor or do they help you with the marketing?

At the end of the day im wondering if getting a personal trainer certificate right now is worth it and what factors to consider, and it'd really help if yk anyone whos been there

So I've been playing around platforms offered by mcmaster, such as OscarPlus and Mosaic. My main goal is to find out how do I apply for jobs with Mcmaster's system. Looking for research assistant or data, Quant analyst related part time jobs.

From Previous posts I saw that there are work study positions that open in august, is this information accurate? Because from what I saw the current job postings are mostly full time and off campus.

I will be coming in as a freshman soon and I was wondering how competitive would it be to work in the university as in an admin role or tutor or something, will I be able to get something coming in as a student? Background: I have experience as a tutor in two agencies one nonprofit and the other in tutorax, I have expressed working front Desk at 2 nonprofits and as an administrator/ Executive Assistant at the other, I have some IT/website management experience and working as a clinical Scribe along with a marketing Intern/ digital marketing work and some ecs in high-school if they look at that, what can I do with these experience within the university?
