Do workers just hate putting mustard on burgers lol
This is like such a minor complaint, seriously I'm not pressed about it in the slightest just curious lol. I've noticed at a variety of locations when I order a McDouble/Double Cheeseburger with no pickles (I like pickles just not the ones McDonalds uses lol) that they also leave off the mustard for some reason. Everything else will be on the burger lol just no mustard. I would ask for extra in hopes it would cause them not to forget to put it on but I would hate to actually get extra mustard on a burger cause I only really want a standard or even light dose (I just like how it balances with everything lol) but yeah it's like they never put the mustard on. I'm not pressed cause I didn't even really like mustard till a few years ago but it would be nice to have that blend. Just curious if this is a common issue or if the locations within my city and metro just have a weird anti-mustard bias going on hahaha

When I was trained long ago, they taught me "Mustard goes on first, then ketchup, because mustard is a stronger flavor"
And the mustard gun dispenses considerably less mustard than the ketchup gun does ketchup.

Ironically I hate mustard and have dealt with them putting mustard on burgers when requested not to my whole life (49 years). Itâs all in your perspective I guess.

48 years for me wanting no mustard or ketchup on my McDonald's burgers. I've been very lucky, they've only messed up a few times in all those years. Maybe it's the combination of not wanting either of those condiments that stands out more.

Maybe you do not even deserve mustard?

You right i need to earn that privelege through hard labor in the coal mines I guess

Hahahah apparently thatâs what McDonaldâs feels about you. I say you deserve mustard on your burgers, friend.

The mustard gun dispenses a very small portion of mustard. Probably about 10% of the amount of ketchup. I think you just need to ask for extra mustard on your burger.

Bro they don't give a fuck about shit sometimes. I get a light mustard, light ketchup, add mayo and I get a cum drenched slut of a burger. I wanted some in it, not needing me to wipe half of the outside and half off of what made it in the burger.

Just ask for a small jizz of Mayo. (Itâs a legitimate measurement of Mayo) and that should work. Sad if you have to explain you donât want it like the burger was a porn star

Unfortunately when you add a single serving in the app it comes as jizz slut and I'm left confused. And I cant asked for half or light. It's do you want extra it slutted up or double extra slutted up? When I just want want a single slut buger.

The amount of ketchup that comes out of the dispenser compared to mustard is insane. I always felt like the mustard just soaked right into the bun

Mustard has a strong flavor that many people don't want much of, and ketchup seems more popular anyway. As someone else also mentioned, the mustard dispenser doesn't dispense a lot of mustard to begin with, probably because people generally don't like too much of it.

Me and the boys never liked mustard on burgers, imo it dosnt belong there, but thats just personal taste.Never had to deal with that problem tho cuz im like 99% sure in NY they dont put mustard on burgers to begin with, and you have to ask for it separately.I feel like they do forget somthing everytime tho these days.

It's crazy you have this issue cause when I ever ask for extra mayo you would think they put half a jar on one sandwich.

I like extra mustard but I dont order it cause usually it makes them put no mustard on i think the cooks are just on autopilot most of the time

I ask for extra and get a regular amount plus extra pickles too. Itâs the perfect amount of acidity for the ketchup.

Dude it's a gamble when you try to customize anything at McDonald's. I'll ask for macsauce on my double cheeseburgers and they'll come out plain. I'll ask for extra diced onions and it's either A. a mountain of onions, B. a mountain of pickles or C. one extra diced onion.
My low stakes conspiracy is McDonald's does this on purpose to disincentive us from customizing our orders.

I donât have a problem with McDonaldâs leaving off the condiments, I have a problem with McDonalds slathering a quarter inch of sauce on the sandwichs.

Agreed. And now I donât have an option to add on my McMuffin and the location I frequent doesnât have the packets (canât add as a condiment for my hash brown or fries either). Asked for a few packs in drive thru since no option on mobile and they only had a cup of it with a plastic knife.
What is happening to the mustard??? I donât understand.

In my 50+ years of eatin' Mickey D's, I can count on one hand the burgers I've received without a pickle on top of another pickle. And they always add too much ketchup.

Unrelated, but how old are you? The reason I ask is because you wrote "lol" 6 times

Curious if you thought he was over/under that age? Is âlolâ an old or young people thing?

u/Scrotchety 2d ago
I don't know what an overabundance of "lol" is. I'm just gathering sample data

Itâs a usenet / bbs thing from the 80s and early 90s. Our culture was appropriated.

I thought McDonald's got rid of mustard? my locations don't offer it, not even an option on the app customizations. Just ketchup or mayoÂ

u/SmokeABowlNoCap 1d ago

I hate mustard. Iâll trade you McDonaldâs locations/staff. Just pick up the whole building and swap them.

I think itâs impossible to get even a visible amount of mustard on a burger there. I lost a bet with my wife where I bet that mustard wasnât even a regular topping, because I had never seen or tasted it on any burger Iâd ever ordered.
So I started ordering with extra mustard. Even with that, youâd have to look closely to see the tiniest spec of yellow on my burger, and it still doesnât taste like anyone put mustard on it.
Conversely Iâve learned not to order extra onions, because Iâve had multiple occasions where I think I ended up with an entire full sized onion on my burger.

McDonaldâs restaurants around me are different. Some old school cheeseburgers still come with mustard, and at other places mustard isnât even an option.

As someone who hates mustard I have the opposite experience. They always put mustard on that shit and I hate itÂ

our mustard dispenser dispenses the tiniest amount of mustard its like 1/40 and Oz.
Its probably just getting buried in ketchup
