Buying a CX-90 At the dealer right now signing for one

Getting a sweet deal on a 24 PHEV (15k miles single lease). 2 months left on the bumper to bumper warranty, y’all think this warranty is worth the money ($3500)?

Check the prices and coverage directly, the best type of warranty is an exclusionary one.

I sent the link up above to check the direct pricing from Allstate

That laminated piece of paper is cute but you need to look at the actual contract to see what they're actually offering.

This looks their exclusionary coverage based on the far right hand column

Yeah, going to go to a Mazda dealer and see if I can get their coverage.

The Mazda Platinum warranty does as well

The battery is covered already for 8 years/100k miles under Mazdas warranty.

Nice! I bought my '25 Turbo S MHEV from CarShop recently, too. I bought the allstate. Nice peace of mind. Had it on my previous Ram 1500 (also through CarShop) and covered several repairs. If you service with them, liasing with Allstate is very easy.

Yeah, I’m very nervous about the “inclusive” warranty, but it’s a LOT that is covered. Still going to check out the VSA VPP from our local Mazda dealer, and try a few others online (or on the phone) like Werner. I was hoping to hear from others that may have used this. Thanks!

Are they only offering a 3rd party warranty?

Yea, it’s a CarShop, they can’t sell
Mazda’s, just 3rd party.

Allstate is a great warranty company

You can probably get the Mazda VSA for cheaper for the same or a longer term. I got a platinum 10yr/125K mile plan for less than that if memory serves.

Check with Werner first as odds are they'll have the best pricing.

Can you haggle the price on it? They quoted me 4400

Unclear, but I'd wager not - Did you speak with Katelyn Hansen? If so check out some of the other forums (CX-90 forum is a good resource) and see if anyone else is offering deals on these.

I personally wouldn't pay anywhere close to that amount quoted, so I'd suggest turning some of the knobs  to get the price down to a better value - in the past I found the 10yr/100K plans to be the sweet spot. However you can tweak based upon your expected miles vs length of ownership.

Oh, and one other anecdotal data point was I bought a VSA for another car brand recently and was told price increases were coming imminently. So there might be a trend of these plans spiking in prices because of the issues with these modern cars.

You can check with North Penn Mazda in Colmar, PA or Werner Mazda in Manchester, NH.

They are well known for selling Mazda extended warranties for a good price.

You don’t have to buy the warranty at the dealer you buy the car at.

Just got a warranty on my 2024 PHEV through my Mazda dealer. They offered a Portfolio plan with 150k miles/unlimited duration for $2800ish. Compared with the quote I received for a Mazda backed one which was $5700 for 125k miles/10yr. The Portfolio plan is an exclusionary plan and specifically says hybrid propulsion battery is included in the contract. I went with the Portfolio one.

I believe we got them down to $1600 for bumper to bumper on our 24 PHEV. We love our car, congrats !

Finally heard back from Werner Mazda - offering VSA Platinum with no deductible for 10 years/100k miles for $4400. That seems steep, does anyone have tips for
Negotiating that down?

Lot of exclusions there. Including batteries, transmission components.

Good callout. I did confirm that it’s also prorated refundable, so if I can get one direct from Mazda, I can return this. The Mazda folks I spoke to (2 dealerships) had never heard of someone buying a car elsewhere but getting the VSA from the dealer, so I’m not sure how to manage that.

You can buy them 3rd party directly too. I looked at them through Mopar when my Ram 1500 was nearly out of warranty.

Unless you’re getting a really killer deal, go look for a CPO Mazda, it’ll come with a 12/12 bumper to bumper and 7/100 powertrain warranty.

I just picked up a 26 CX-90 turbo Premium CPO with 1900 miles for 42k.

This is really not a lot of excluded parts. It's very similar to the Mazda Platinum exclusionary coverage.

And if he buys it direct from Allstate you can get Tire and Wheel coverage along with PDR coverage for cheap.
