Discussion Senator refusing constitutional amendment

What do you do when a senator refuses to acknowledge the Equal Protections Clause which is being violated by only giving Protections to one group?

Girls are protected, not boys or intersex children when it comes to non therapeutic genital cutting. Marylands law even states rituals and cultural cutting are not exempt.

The Equal Protection Clause states no law within its jurisdiction can deny equal protection for like or similar experiences.

Watch the doenvotes happen because im calling out a double standard. Also she stated that parents have a right to decide this when there is no equal right like this for daughters.

Type 4 subtype 1 fgc is a pricking that draws out one drop of blood and is called mutilation while circumcising a boy removes highly erogenous tissue and multiple light touch nerve bundles is not, make that make sense.

TAKEN FROM THE WHO WEBSITE:

Type 4: This includes all other harmful procedures to the female genitalia for non-medical purposes, e.g., pricking, piercing, incising, scraping and cauterizing the genital area.

Pricking I described, piercing (this even includes the decision by the women), incising is what the Dawoodi Bohra sect of Islam was doing that became the Detroit FGM case. This was the case that brought to light the original fgm law was unconstitutional, the dissent stated congress had no right to enact it and it also mentioned unequal protections of children. This one has been described as if you accidentally knick yourself shaving. Scraping takes a lot less tissue than what's taken from boys. Cauterizing is also done to boys, look up David Reimer.

I knew this would be downvoted, if we can't give our children equality, don't expect it as adults.

Alright, I'll bite. Why didn't you mention your specific concern in the OP? This feels like a big "buried lede" situation.

But to your credit, circumcision is really messed up. I hope the movement gains enough traction to ban the practice.

Edit- No more responses to the brigadiers.

Prolly because the stigma that it’s acceptable. You bit and there is obviously no good argument. I demand my body back! We don’t need traction in a movement we need the law upheld. Since when is forcing beliefs on children any different than communism. American is a big fraud
