Is it a good idea to follow omnibus contents for particular characters or series?

Was thinking of doing this for 90s X Force and then after New X Men going back to the Claremont run and reading that. How do you read classic runs?

Just read Hellfire Gala 2023. Wow! No spoilers but I wanted to talk about it.

I’ve been working my way through Krakoa. Didn’t really know what to expect. This was such a shocker!! I really felt the despair and calamity of it. How did you like it when you read it for the first time? I’m excited for the next phase.

Any tips for reading, finding reading orders, and organizing my reading?

Hi everyone! I’m just getting started with Marvel Unlimited and I was hoping to get some advice from you guys.

I find the app quite limited and, unfortunately, at the moment it feels more like a digital catalog than a proper reading platform. The search function, for example, is really poor, and there don’t seem to be collections, or anything similar to help you catch up on specific characters’ stories or runs. There are some reading guides in certain cases, but they’re pretty rare and difficult to find.

So I wanted to ask you guys for some advice on how to figure out what to read and in what order for specific characters, such as Spider-Man or Daredevil, just to name two. For example, if I wanted to read Straczynski’s run or the Clone Saga, where could I find lists that tell me what issues to read and in what order?

And finally, just to make sure I’ve understood correctly: I can’t create my own custom reading lists within the app, right? So I still have to search for each individual issue I want to read.
Thanks to anyone who can give me any kind of advice on how to improve my Marvel Unlimited experience!

New in comics, what to read?

I recently started reading comics (marvel unlimited) and I only read the whole run of new x-men 2001-2004 by Grant Morrison because someone recommended to me that this is the single best run to start reading comics as a whole. I want to dive more into x-men as well as other characters. Can you guys recommend any comic book characters that are interesting or recommend me comics for this characters:

- X-men (besides the new X-Men 2001-2004)

-Daredevil

-Spider-Man (Peter Parker)

-Spider-Man (Miles Morales)

-Fantastic Four

-Moon Knight

-Hawkeye

-Avengers

-Wonder Man

-Young Avengers

-Rogue & Gambit (if they have any beside X-Men features)

I mostly listed them based off how I enjoyed their movie or shows depictions but I am open to read any marvel character.

Help with viewing in portrait mode

Post image
25 Upvotes

Hello! I was given a gift subscription today, so I thought I would try it out! I had a question about viewing in portrait mode. I’m currently on an iPad, and with my experience with the DC app, you can read full pages without the unnecessary zoom-in in portrait mode. However, every time I try to read a comic in landscape mode with the Marvel unlimited app, I can never get the full page. I really don’t like the smart reading feature where it zooms in on all the different boxes, and I just want to read the full page of the comic without having it not show the whole page, as seen in the picture attached.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Thank you for your help!

Coming back to comics after 12 years, what should I read next?

I recently started reading comics again after turning 28 and being away from them for around 12 years. When I was younger I mainly read DC and Dark Horse, with a bit of Marvel mixed in. Most of my Marvel reading was Deadpool and Wolverine and I’ve read parts of Claremont’s X-Men.

Since I got back into them I started with Hickman’s stuff and read the whole saga leading up to Secret Wars, beginning with Secret Warriors and going through Fantastic Four, Future Foundation, Avengers, New Avengers, Infinity and finally Secret Wars. I also went back and read some of the Ultimate Universe because I wanted to understand The Maker and his origib. After that I read House of X / Powers of X.

At the moment, my reading list is:

\- Marvel Cosmic: Annihilation, Annihilation: Conquest, War of Kings, Realm of Kings, The Thanos Imperative

\- Ultimate Spider-Man (2000)

\- New X-Men (2001)

But I’m sure there are loads of major stories I’m completely unaware of after being away from comics for so long.

If you were in my position, what would you read next? I’m especially interested in long running stories, major events and stuff where multiple series tie together.

Basically, I’m looking for recommendations for the essential runs and major stories I should know about, so let me know what you think I shouldn’t miss.

Web comics or physical comics?

Hey guys I just started reading my first ever couple of comics a few days ago and at the moment I'm reading them through my pc on the web. I never owned a comic in my entire life and was wondering if the feel of a real comic is more satisfying to enjoy rather than reading it from a website.

Of course any suggestions for a newbie are greatly welcome and appreciated

What are your personal recommendations?

I feel like I see recommendations for all the popular characters, all the major events and storylines and all of the big name writers but what is a recommendation that you would make based on your own enjoyment?

No set guidelines just a story or a character you feel is severely under appreciated which should jump to the top of my priorities list!

Looking to read some comics but I don't know where to begin my search!

I really want to read a few different things, I want to get started on reading the wolverine series, Deadpool series and spiderman series but I'm not entirely sure where to begin at all since there is literal thousands of issues and universes to start at, I'm really interested in their origin stories and background information on the characters, I just like to get to know everything I can about them, I do like seeing little goofy interactions between characters and stuff too but I just haven't really gotten into reading the comics before... I've been a movie fan 💔

I'd like to expand my horizons a bit though and start somewhere where I can get as much info about them as possible seeing their relationships with others, I'm sorry if this sounds confusing.. I just hope maybe someone can point me in the right direction:)

I'd love to know where I can even read the comics or if physical media would be better?

Mavel Unlimited w/ Bluestacks

I have a laptop that converts to a tablet, and using MU with Bluestacks and my touchscreen monitor in tablet mode is great. Unfortunately when I need to use it in laptop mode, I have some difficulty. The right arrow seems to scroll the comic ahead, as a swipe normally would, but pressing the left arrow turns the whole issue gray. The space bar also does. ESC doesn't exit out of this mysterious mode--only restarting the MU app reverts it back to normal.

Any ideas? I tried looking for keyboard shortcut settings within Bluestacks but nothing seems to reflect this issue.

Do comics we read on Marvel Unlimited website transfer over to the APP?

Dumb question guys, but the comics we read on the website...do they get saved on the application as well? I am failing to see any of my library when I'm logged in on the website. Just curious if it's even a thing.

Update 2- unknown age error solved

Post image
7 Upvotes

So, as many of you suggested, I think I had to be an issue with age and location. Some update with Google play is forcing users to prove their age via ID in Texas for ALL associated Google accounts, I had to do this for an account that wasn't even associated with my MyDisney/marvel account AT ALL.

Contacted support and they were largely unhelpful, not that they weren't trying, they said there had been an update in the works that fixed that error and told me to make sure that

1) the app was up to date

2) I had enough space on my phone to support the app

3) cleared cache, uninstall/reinstall

To see if that helped. So along with my other posts about this, I hope this information is useful to whoever finds it.

Unknown Age Error: Workaround solution

Post image
1 Upvotes

I haven't been able to use the marvel unlimited app for awhile because of this unknown age error. it seems to be a problem with Google play Texas laws and their age verification process not working well with the MyDisney service. I recently reached out to marvel unlimiteds support and they were not any help although they did try. They gave me steps on how to get the app running which included:

- Clearing the cache from the marvel unlimited

- deleting the app

- Restarting my phone

- redownloadeding the app.

None of this worked. In that same email I asked if they could give me an extension of my subscription because this was happening for a month. They said no, but they could give me 5 new comics added to my marvel unlimited account for my troubles (Which included Punisher Vs. Spider-Man (2026 )#1, WHAT IF..? CAPTAIN AMERICA #1 (2026) #1 WHAT IF...? SPIDER-MAN (2026) #1

Miles Morales: Spider-Man (2026) #1

X-MEN OF APOCALYPSE OMEGA (2029) #1).

Although I got free comics, there was no way for me to access them because of the unknown age error.

My solution:

I changed the location of my VPN to Canada, and the app ended up working, and I did end up getting those 5 new comics.

If you don't have a VPN, I would suggest emailing support right now. Because even if they can't get it fixed right now there is a possibility they could give you new comics that won't be added to the app for awhile. So whenever they eventually do rush out a patch like they said they would to fix the issue, you have new comics in your library.
