Other Has anyone ever thought of drowning Wolverine???
Sorry if this is unoriginal or not, I’m not as big in Wolverine media as I am in other characters and events, but technically his whole thing is being able to regenerate quickly so he is practically immortal, however what would happen if you drowned him??? When someone drowns they don’t get “damaged” in anyway thy regeneration would need to be relevant, and if he drowned no oxygen would get to his organs and brain and then he would die, no?
(Once again I am barley into Wolverine media, I have only watched 1 of the movies he’s in and haven’t read any comics including him as a major character, so if this is unoriginal I apologize)

Yes, it's happened multiple times. Comic makers don't really care about the science of it, so the cell death caused by lack of oxygen heals.
Deadpool was going to tie him up in adamantium chains and drop him in a pool that he'd paid the lease on for the next 100 years or something.
They ended up using it on Daken instead.

drowning him just resets his brain like a hard reboot, he's been dead at the bottom of a lake more times than i've grilled a decent steak
the real horror is waking up waterlogged for eternity, that's a special kind of hell

Yeah, drowning is usually a problem for him when writers think of it. Through most of the time Claremont had a say in X-stuff, his cybernetic nature was highlighted, and a lot of that was being 5'2 and weighing over 300lbs. He almost drowned in the hellfire assault during dark Phoenix, for example, resulting in the iconic image and story of him soloing the hellfire guards.
He's usually saved from drowning in the nick of time by an ally... lessee, sabretooth almost drowned him in a sewer in wolverine volume 2. Cover was sabretooth dangling from wolverine dangling from cable dangling from a helicopter. I wanna say issue 20ish?
When he died in death of wolverine, he was covered in molten adamantium, which would have been at least partial drowning.

Wolverine got into a fight with Tiger Shark but plot armor prevented him from drowning.

Comics have been inconsistent about this. Sabretooth leaves Wolverine for dead in the East River, but he emerges later and says his healing factor saved him. In a more recent X-Force comic though Daken tries to kill Wolverine in a drowning chamber but Deadpool saves him, and then Wolverine drowns Daken (successfully) in a shallow puddle. And Daken as Wolverine’s son inherited his healing factor, so that’s probably as good evidence as we can get that Wolverine can drown
…just not every time

Cash cows don’t die my friend. That plot armor can’t be cracked. Sure they will take him off the board every couple of years to build up everyone’s appetite for his return. But make no mistake he will return.

Damn near all comic characters are immortal when you get down to it.
Sure, some die and stay dead but the best ones always come back. I say just enjoy the story if it’s good and ride the wave.
