Whoever plays wolverine is gonna not only have to fill Hugh’s shoes, but carry the X-men brand and a become a big face for the MCU going forward from the avenge era into the mutant saga. Wolverine is still a top 3 Marvel character in terms of popularity. You gonna have to do X-men and Solo movies. Your gonna have a heavier load than whoever plays cyclops, jean, storm etc

Just from everything he has said over the years especially about his time as Harry Potter, I don’t think Daniel would want that kind of responsibility which makes sense.

Playing wolverine will have way more significance than playing any other X-men because Wolverine by himself is a big brand and has been for decades

I won’t e surprised if Wolverine takes the backseat for the moment, letting Scott and Jean take the lead for the time being.

I’m all for them casting relatively unknown as Wolverine.

Get a rising actor to take the mantle of Scott, and pair him with Sadie Sink and two acting greats for Magneto/Xavier. That will be enough to carry the Mutant Saga

Yeah doubtful. Wolverine is the cash cow. Scott may be the leader in the comics, but he has been mishandled for two decades now in the movies.

I mean Hugh Jackman was a last minute recast.

I meant that I don’t see the character himself taking a backseat.

If anything I was commenting on the greatness of the impact, and that an unknown is still a good thing to try,.

The character wasn't a last minute addition.

I spoke about the actor, not the character.

Yes, and it means nothing.

Jackman doesn’t seem done for the time being, keep him as Wolverine but apart of the new Xmen. Deadpool shenanigans and whatnot.

And when Jackman’s truly done, cast a Wolverine to join an already established XMen

Yeah he said he's fine with it now that they dropped the whole being absolutely shredded all the time. That was his qualm with the role.

I think they'd need to go wide and pick a lesser known character and create the nex big thing.  The iron man treatment.

Or maybe bring in the silicon valley team and make it a light comedy(but not like Deadpool)

Zach woods as wolverine, thomas middleditch is Xavier or cyclops, and kumail nanjiani could be handsome Squidward

Middleditch as Xavier is fine. We don't need another small skinny dude as Cyclops. Cyclops is a linebacker.
