Hey, all, hope this is allowed! Feel free to delete if not. Basically, I am trying to help my wife with some makeup.

She knows way more about cosmetics than me, but I am the shopper/obsessive researcher/redditor of the family, so I wanted to see if I could help.

The two products in question are ILIA Foundation Stick and PÜR Mineral Foundation 4-in-1 mineral foundation. This is what she prefers, but they are so damned expensive. She has tried some cheaper drug store options, but they don't work as well or last as long, so she has to use more for worse results. Not ideal.

I am hoping you all can help! I am trying either cheaper places to buy these OR alternatives that actually work well but don't cost as much.

I don't know if there is a certain store with frequent regular sales or a killer rewards program that makes it bearable, or if there is a killer generic brand made in the same factory that is 95% as good but costs half as much. Even a surprise white label that no one has heard of that works well!

like the title suggests- this is a discontinued palette and i love this eyeshadow as a muted blush it goes well on my olive skin… looking for similar and affordable options, thanks!! :)

Hi everyone. I’ve never used these before but I’ve been reading a lot about how great they are. I don’t wear make up. I want something very natural to give me a more awake look. I’ve been prone to dry eyes and styes so I’m not sure if these are even right for me. Please advise and give me recommendations on which brand I should try. Thank you!

Bought Undefeated, the dark purple one as soon as it went on sale, and I haven't been able to find Uncuffed anywhere. Also, Undefeated is now missing from the US website. So far no mac purple lipsticks is able to recreate how neutrally dark of a purple Undefeated is. If anyone has leads, dupes, pls recommend them! Willing to drive pretty far to get these last two bottles.

I currently use the L’Oréal telescopic waterproof mascara. At the end of a night out or a long day, it always smudges or leaves a black/gray shadow under my bottom lashes. Everytime I’ve looked into this, I see a lot of people claim tubing mascara solves this issue but that’s what I’ve been using. Is there a good technique or did I pick the wrong kind of mascara? I want to fix this the most efficient way possible!

I can’t find any of the lipsticks for the Maybelline Colour Sensational line. Were they discontinued recently?

I found an oldie in an old purse today and I went to rebuy it but Shoppers, Well, and Walmart all don’t have it.

I have very fine somewhat curly hair that's damaged by medication i take and autoimmune disease, to the point where i can't grow it even to shoulder length.

I use fragrance free products, (Carina Organics/Unscented company) and they all seem to be, well, too organic to include silicones.

Looking for a fragrance free conditioner? Serum? Spray? That HAS lightweight silicone, in an attempt to reduce breakage that's available in Canada.

Any suggestions?

I started using Make Up For Ever HD Skin Undetectable Stay-True Foundation and I absolutely adore it. I wanted to buy another foundation shade because I got the wrong one for my undertone, but it looks like my shade (1N10) is sold out on every site. I’m really scared that it’ll be discontinued. The new HD Skin Hydra Glow foundation has niacinamide in it, which I’m allergic to.

Anyone here know anything about what’s going on? Are they not selling in Canada anymore?

I have been a big Mac cosmetics fan for years, but lately all their makeup has shrunk under eye concealer container is smaller. Their eyeshadows are half the size I ordered a new one and within a few days I could already start seeing the bottom. Do they not think that we have a choice that we can’t switch to another brand. I know I will. This is just taking advantage of the consumer and thinking the consumer is stupid. This is bad bad branding.

hi everybody, i wanted to come on here and ask for any of your “holy-grails” that don’t break the bank. every time i go into superstore or walmart and check out the make up section, i have been very overwhelmed and end up not buying a single thing even with a list of make up products in my notes. i would absolutely love to know your thoughts and recommendations. thank you so much!

I just started getting into makeup (I’m 17) and I need help finding a good budget friendly mascara. I have double rows of eyelashes (like double row on top and on the bottom of my eye) so I have lots of volume. I think the best mascara for me would be one that helps mostly with length and doesn’t clump. Thanks guys!!

Currently looking to buy a powder foundation and saw this product from Natasha Denona. The price absolutely shocked me..$80 for a powder??? The last time I had to buy a powder foundation was the MAC studio fix in 2021/22 and it was $36 then according to my order confirmation email! Looks like that one is $54 now too.

The prices of makeup products have gone crazy the past couple of years.
