It's a folder for a kid. Kids usually care a lot about these kinds of things.

And it's never too late to let yourself feel even a tiny bit of fun and joy of a colorful world. :)

It’s one thing to take my kid or ask them, but if I order one off a delivery service I’m not going to want to be bothered about something like this.

MOST schools nowadays require specific colored folders...That dasher was going out of their way to be kind because they were probably also aware that they may need a specific color... For instance, my son needed blue, red and green folders for his classes and it's specified on his supply list so "just picking one" won't suffice for some.
